About Us

At an early age, Frank Crumpler of Clinton, knew that he wanted to be in funeral service. In 1956 graduated from the Cincinnati School Embalming College, today know as Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. He began working with Jernigan & Warren Funeral Home located in Fayetteville.

Frank was working a funeral service in the Raeford Cemetery with Jernigan Warren Funeral Home, when he met his future wife, Dayne Capps of Rockfish. They began their courtship and soon became married. After having their first child, F. Kemp Crumpler followed by their second child Kelvin Crumpler or Kel as he is called today. In 1960 they purchased and opened up their first funeral home. Shortly thereafter, they had their final child, a daughter, Kalen Crumpler.Since that time, all of their children became licensed by the state to offer services as funeral professionals.

After their oldest son,Kemp graduated from mortuary college and began working with the funeral home. He had a desire for public service and joined the Hoke County Rescue Squad before eventually moving on to join theN.C. Highway Patrol and graduating from their academy as a Trooper. After retiring from the highway patrol, he was hired as the Chief of Police in Raeford where he served five years before retiring.Even though his license is still current in funeral service, he now enjoys spending time with his wife, whom is also a licensed funeral director, spending time with his grandchildren, and caring for his horses. He currently attends Hillcrest Baptist Church in Raeford.

Frank and Dayne’s second child, Kel, currently manages the day to day operations at the main office, Crumpler Funeral Home in Raeford initially where the Crumpler Legacy began. Over the years, Kel has proven that he has the gift of providing the best care for the families he serves. Kel has great compassion for families he has served in the late 1980s. He and his wife, Kim currently reside in Raeford and attend the Raeford Evangelical Methodist Church.
