Sweet Magnolia Speech Therapy, PLLC is searching for one adventurous soul to become our official Race Day Pirate for the Blackbeard Revenge 100 Ultra & Relay!

This brave buccaneer will:
⚓ Be the face of our voyage
⚓ See the OBX in an up close and personal way
⚓ Receive free race entry
⚓ Submit a few fun photos & videos while training
⚓ Share videos or photos during the event

🦖🎉 MEET OUR NEW MASCOT: GERONIMO, THE T-REX! 🎉🦖

That’s right, the team voted — “Geronimo!” is officially echoing through the halls of Sweet Magnolia Speech Therapy, PLLC!

Why Geronimo? Well…
Honestly, the idea of kids running around yelling “GERONIMOOOO!” just cracks us up. But there's more to it — and it’s actually kind of perfect.

“Geronimo!” was a cry of courage shouted by U.S. paratroopers jumping from planes — a bold shout into the unknown, full of bravery and excitement. Over time, it’s become a symbol of facing challenges head-on with heart and fearlessness.

And that? That’s exactly what we see in our amazing clients and families every single day.

It’s especially fitting because so many of the families we serve are military-connected. You know what it means to be brave. To move forward into the unknown. To do hard things — whether it's your first speech session or your fiftieth jump.

Almost five years ago, I started Sweet Magnolia Speech Therapy, PLLC with a big dream and a very small support system. I was a brand-new mom, juggling a baby with medical challenges, a husband who traveled for work, and a family who lived far away. I ended up working 5 PRN jobs at once while building the business in the background and being the primary parent for everything else. It was overwhelming, isolating… and honestly, really hard.

But one person who always showed up to cheer me on? Veronica. 💛

And now… guess what? She’s officially joined the Sweet Magnolia Therapy team! 🎉👏🏼

Veronica brings years of experience in the medical world—everything from scheduling to billing and beyond. She's a go getter, fantastic family advocate, and incredible team player. We are SO lucky to have her on board, and I couldn’t be more excited for what’s ahead. Help us give her the warmest welcome! 💐

🧠✨ Unhinged Therapy Moments (That Actually Make a Difference)

Yes, I've offended people.
Yes, I’ve run therapy sessions under tables.
Yes, I’ve pretended to be a dinosaur for 45 minutes straight.
Yes, I’ve carried a child in a laundry basket down the hallway because transitions were hard.

No, this isn’t chaos (or maybe it is a little bit) — it’s regulation. It’s rapport. It’s therapy.

Because real therapy isn’t about what the world wants a child to look like.

It’s about what that child and that family need to function, connect, and feel safe — even if it looks completely unhinged from the outside.

We don’t do this work to fix kids.
We do it to free them and to allow themselves to meet their maximal potential!
