🌨 WEATHER UPDATE | Once again, we are planning for wintry weather across our service area over the weekend. With snow in the forecast, we are adjusting hours at some of our locations on Saturday and will be watching closely to see how the storm impacts the Sandhills.

🩺 Most of our Convenient Care clinics will open at 12 p.m. on Saturday, weather permitting. Convenient Care locations in Sanford, Whispering Pines and Pinehurst will be CLOSED on Saturday, allowing us to consolidate services in Lee and Moore counties.

🏥 Our four hospitals are ready to serve, and our emergency rooms will be open 24/7 throughout the weekend, no matter what is falling from the sky.

💻 FirstHealth On the Go gives you access to providers through virtual visits on a computer, tablet or smartphone. FirstHealth On the Go is available from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. for all ages. No appointment needed.

💪 FirstHealth Fitness is adjusting hours at several of its locations over the weekend.

“This groundbreaking represents people, progress and FirstHealth’s core purpose - To Care for People.”

🔨 🏥 We celebrated an important milestone this morning with a groundbreaking ceremony to kick off an expansion project at Moore Regional Hospital - Hoke Campus in Raeford. The project is a $50 million investment in the future of health care in Hoke County. It includes a two-story hospital tower, two dozen new inpatient beds and a 15,560-square-foot addition to the existing medical office building.

We expect construction to be complete next spring and plan to see the first patients in our new space in July 2027.

“I would walk a few steps from where the car is parked into our kitchen and I’d be out of breath… it was a horrible way to live.”

Before his Zephyr valve procedure, COPD made everyday tasks difficult for Robert Hutchison. He relied on oxygen and couldn’t enjoy the active life he was used to. After being evaluated by Pinehurst Medical Clinic pulmonologist Adam Belanger, M.D., and the FirstHealth Pulmonology team, Robert had the procedure last year and noticed a difference immediately.

"There’s no way to explain the miracle that I have got. I can breathe; I am off the oxygen now. I can do work out in the yard as I’ve always done," Robert said.

MONDAY UPDATE | With ice lingering on roadways across the Sandhills, FirstHealth is adjusting schedules at many of our locations on Monday, January 26.

🏥 Some clinics are closed today, and many others will not open before 12 p.m., including our Convenient Care clinics and many outpatient services at our hospital campuses.

If you have an appointment at a FirstHealth outpatient facility or clinic, please call before traveling.

❄️ 🌨 SUNDAY EVENING UPDATE | With cold temperatures expected to impact the roads tomorrow morning, we will delay services at many of our locations to prioritize the safety of patients and staff.

🏥 All outpatient services at FirstHealth hospitals, including elective surgeries, will be delayed until at least 12 p.m. on Monday, January 26.

🩺 Our Convenient Care clinics will not open until 12 p.m. on Monday, weather permitting. Many other clinics across our system will either open late or not at all. If you have an appointment at a FirstHealth clinic on Monday, we recommend getting in touch with staff before traveling.

❄️🌨 As we all prepare for the winter weather heading our way this weekend, we want to share some important reminders from NC Emergency Management.

Be sure you make a plan BEFORE the weather arrives.

If you or a loved one relies on electric-powered medical equipment (like oxygen, ventilators, or dialysis), make sure you have a backup plan TODAY before the storm hits:

🔋 Charge everything including backup batteries and power stations.
🏥 If you don't have a generator, identify a friend or family member with power where you can go before roads get icy.
🧊 Have a cooler ready for any meds that require refrigeration.

Thanks to the generosity of people throughout our region, The Foundation of FirstHealth has completed its Match-A-Million campaign to raise funds for FirstFutures. The goal of $1 million has been reached, and those donations will be doubled thanks to a matching gift from a generous donor family.

FirstFutures is a collaborative effort between FirstHealth and The Foundation to recruit and train the health care staff and providers of the future. Launched in 2024, FirstFutures is reimagining how future health care providers explore educational opportunities as they grow, functioning as a career pipeline for students.
