“I would walk a few steps from where the car is parked into our kitchen and I’d be out of breath… it was a horrible way to live.”

Before his Zephyr valve procedure, COPD made everyday tasks difficult for Robert Hutchison. He relied on oxygen and couldn’t enjoy the active life he was used to. After being evaluated by Pinehurst Medical Clinic pulmonologist Adam Belanger, M.D., and the FirstHealth Pulmonology team, Robert had the procedure last year and noticed a difference immediately.

"There’s no way to explain the miracle that I have got. I can breathe; I am off the oxygen now. I can do work out in the yard as I’ve always done," Robert said.

At FirstHealth, our people are the heart behind the care we provide every day.

Savannah’s journey with FirstHealth began as a telemetry technician. After leaving for what she thought would be a better opportunity, she quickly realized something was missing. Savannah said the culture we have here at FirstHealth is different and the teamwork is like nowhere else. She said she never feels alone and there is always someone there to support you. Today, Savannah takes pride in helping create a place where everyone who walks through our doors feels safe and supported.
