🏠 When Eddie N. joined Vincent House, stable housing seemed like a distant dream. Through our employment programs and support services, he built the skills and confidence needed to secure meaningful work.

"After a few months of volunteering at Vincent House and using its resources such as their Career Development team to help build my resume, Culinary to build my stamina, and Vocational Rehabilitation to work on my job skills, I was hired by an engineering firm as an editor/reviewer. The job was a God send. My Housing

situation vastly improved... After a year of employment, I received a salary increase that would allow me to consider buying a home. I wanted a place to call my own, and I did just that. With some financial assistance, I was able to put a down payment on a beautiful condo in Seminole, Florida."

Today we’re celebrating Heather from Vincent House Pasco! Heather became a member earlier this year, and she recently shared:

"I never thought that I would be able to go to college. As a disabled person, I assumed that college would be too difficult for me and that I would flunk out... With Vincent House's help I am succeeding in my schooling. I have a 3.0 GPA and I am now in my second semester at PHSC. I now know that my disability does not stop me from going to school and that I can succeed in all that I desire."

From helping with college applications and FAFSA to connecting with accessibility advocates and Vocational Rehabilitation, Vincent House was there every step of the way. Stories like Heather's remind us why we believe in the power of community and meaningful work - we are always stronger together!

Meet Allison, a Vincent House Pinellas member whose academic journey inspires us all! Despite facing challenges, she earned her BA in Philosophy and recently completed her Master's degree in Research Administration from Johns Hopkins University.

"I am immensely proud to have earned my BA in Philosophy from such a rigorous academic environment... Vincent House has made a positive and lasting impact on me. Just knowing [the staff] was in my corner made a lasting difference."

Allison's dedication to education and research shows what's possible with the right support and determination!
