Freshly minted FWC Officer, Cole Vanderpool, graduated from the Academy in Tallahassee on Saturday. Wonderful family and longtime friends.
He's not sure where he'll be posted. if it's over here in Highlands, you'd better keep your poaching to a minimum.
The FWC service protects all of us and our environs. They are always underfunded and staffed.

We are celebrating a milestone today!
October 14, 2025, marks exactly 31 years since we opened our doors, right here on the corner of 53rd Street and Park Boulevard!
Yes, the even-numbers are usually celebrated but, at 31, we can officially say we’ve been humbly, gratefully, and proudly serving our Pinellas Park and Tampa Bay Area communities for OVER 30 years!
The old saying, “It takes a village to raise a child” is also wildly accurate for a small business. We wouldn’t still be here without the incredible and continued support of our “village,” of which, first and foremost is our families who have trusted us with taking care of their loved ones during impossible times, the various community businesses and organizations we have been supported by and are a part of, and our local community, city and county leadership.
It is an honor to be a part of this community, to see it and our families grow, through hardships and joy.
From all of us - Ed, Chris, Enoch, Brad and Jim - our continued purpose and mission, is to ensure all of you, our village, has a safe place to go, a caring voice to hear, a shoulder to lean on, when you need it most, for at least another 31 years. Thank you!
Give us a call or stop by if we can help, in any way.

December 6, 1949 - July 25, 2025

James Alan Good, age 75, who was born in Dayton, Ohio and lived in Seminole, Florida since 1983, passed away on July 25, 2025.

Jim retired from the United States Postal Service after 34 years as a Letter Carrier and was an avid, lifelong member of the National Association of Letter Carriers Union, attending all the monthly meetings, and served as President of Branch 599 in Tampa, Florida, for 9 years.

He was also quite the animal lover, especially of cats, having had six over the last several decades; Sam, Squeaker, Misfit, Sasha, and Rosie, all gone over the Rainbow Bridge, and Sabrina, adopted as a stray from the Largo SPCA in 2021, now five years old.

Jim also loved birds and impeccably cared for a bird feeder in his backyard, keeping it clean and well stocked, paying particular attention to adding black sunflower seeds for the cardinals, but was also excited to see the woodpeckers and bluejays that would visit.

He loved working in his yard and was especially proud of his “Buddha Belly” Bamboo, which he purchased in 2014 and always kept perfectly trimmed.

Jim also loved baseball, especially the Rays, and particularly enjoyed attending games with his son Mark. Earlier in life, he also coached the team his sons played on for the Citrus Park Athletic League.

He and wife Marilyn relished attending concerts together, having seen artists and bands including Tom Petty, Al Stewart, Todd Rundgren, Jethro Tull, Steely Dan, Beachboys, Bob Dylan, and the Eagles. They particularly loved seeing Paul McCartney and Wings, and Bruce Springsteen, a favorite. A particularly fond memory was when he and Marilyn attended a concert in Cleveland with Larry, his brother, and Larry’s now deceased wife, Debbie. Jim also loved 60’s Rock, particularly the Doors, the Beatles.

On of the most unforgettable and amazing experiences he and Marilyn shared was a 10-day trip to Italy for their 50th Wedding Anniversary. They toured Venice, Florence, Padua, Rome, Tuscany, Pisa, Capri, Sorrento and Pompeii and had the time of their lives.

Jim was the beloved husband of Marilyn for 56 years, loving father of Alan and Mark Good, grandfather to Giovanna Good, Mark’s daughter, loving brother to Tom (Nancy) and Larry (Debbie) Good, and son of the late Frank and Dorothy Good. He was beloved by many friends.
