Moms are the fixers of scraped-up knees,
The finders of shoes and lost TV remotes with ease.
They answer our questions (all fifty a day),
Then somehow still smile when we ask anyway.

They survive little sleep and mountains of laundry,
Cold cups of coffee and schedules gone contrary.
They’ve mastered the art of doing it all,
While making the hard days feel not hard at all.

They’re part-time chefs and full-time hearts,
Keeping families together in a million small parts.
With hugs that heal and wisdom that sticks,
And the magical power to “just know things” quick.

And for those whose moms live now in memory,
Their love still remains in the roots of the family tree.
In recipes, traditions, laughter, and grace,
A mother’s love never truly leaves its place.

So today we celebrate every kind of mom,
The loud, the quiet, the patient, the strong.
Thank you for the love you give day after day —
The world is better because of moms in every way.

Today, we celebrate and give thanks to the incredible mothers, grandmothers, stepmothers, and mother figures who make our lives better every single day.

You are the quiet strength behind all of us, the source of endless love, encouragement, sacrifice, and support. Your impact reaches far beyond the home — shaping communities, building traditions, inspiring future generations, and reminding us of what compassion and resilience truly look like.

Thank you for everything you do, often without recognition, but always with love.

We also hold close in our thoughts the mothers who are no longer with us. For many, this day is filled not only with gratitude but with the remembrance of mom’s love, guidance, and presence that lives forever, deep in our hearts.

From all of us at Taylor Family Funeral Home, we wish you a heartfelt, peaceful, and love-filled Mother’s Day.

Thomas William Eshelman
September 24, 1960 – April 27, 2026

Thomas “Tom” "Tommy" William Eshelman, a man who believed every problem had a solution and every engine had a story, passed away on April 27, 2026, in St. Petersburg, Florida. Born in Reading, Pennsylvania, Tom eventually moved to Florida to be near the family he cherished.

A lifelong learner with a mechanical engineering degree from the University of Hartford and a subsequent MBA, Tom dedicated thirty years to Pratt & Whitney. He concluded his distinguished career with immense pride as a civilian engineer for the U.S.A. Thunderbirds. Whether he was diagnosing complex aerospace issues or troubleshooting air conditioning machinery, Tom’s passion for mechanics was matched only by his determination.

He was known as the smartest man in the room—a title earned not just through his degrees, but through his willingness to help. From financial investment strategies to life advice, Tom was the person everyone turned to. He was famous for his quick wit and "Tom-isms," often challenging others with a grin: “What a concept!”, “Look in the owner’s manual!”, or the classic, “You picking up what I am laying down?” If you dared a weak retort, you were met with a dry, “Your repertoire of comebacks is juvenile.”

Tom faced a two-year battle with aggressive esophageal cancer with the same grit he applied to his engineering. His courage remained a source of strength for his loved ones until the very end. As it says in 2 Timothy 4:7: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”

Tom is reunited in peace with his parents, Richard and Mary (Mackie) Eshelman, and his sister, Mary Anne Townsend.

His legacy lives on through the sons he raised, Will Gabriel (Sarah) and Dan Gabriel (Adriana Sita); Madeline Fraser (Ian), the daughter of his heart; his brother, David Eshelman (Liz); and his loyal Sheepadoodle, Sammy. He also leaves behind a community of wonderful friends who blessed him daily with their support.

The lives Tom touched are stronger, wiser, and better for having known him. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the non-profit Esophageal Cancer Action Network. https://ecan.org/give-to-save-lives-2/

Services will be held privately.

Robert “Bobby” Gomezjurado
November 30, 1984 – April 17, 2026

Robert “Bobby” Gomezjurado, 41, of Tampa, Florida, passed away unexpectedly, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

Born on November 30, 1984, and raised in Tampa, Bobby was a driven entrepreneur and a hardworking, talented man who could build, fix, and create just about anything. Known as the life of the party, he had a way of bringing people together with his humor, energy, and generous spirit.

Above all, Bobby was a devoted father. He leaves behind his beloved children, Donovan Carter-Gomezjurado and Sophia Gomezjurado, who were the center of his world. He is also survived by his loving mother, Fabiola Gomezjurado; his siblings, Marcela (husband, Ashley Mote), Eduardo Gomezjurado, and Sandra Neves (husband, David Neves); along with many nieces and nephews who adored him. Bobby was especially known as the fun-loving “funcle,” always connecting with them on their level, including Joshua, Gianni, Catherine, Isabella, and Austin (“Bobby Jr.”).

Bobby shared a special bond with his loyal dog, PeeWee. While Bobby rescued PeeWee, those who knew them would say PeeWee rescued Bobby right back—his constant companion and best friend, whom he would love to spoil and mess with at every opportunity.

He is preceded in death by his father, Eduardo Gomezjurado, whom he loved deeply and motivated him to become a man his father would be proud of, and with whom we find comfort in knowing he is now reunited.

He is also survived by his beloved Aunt Helen Castro, many cousins, and those he shared a close bond with, including Mariana Malpica and Ray Cedeño.

A proud Tampa native, Bobby was a fan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and loved the camaraderie of cheering on his team.

Bobby will be remembered for his kindness, humor, dedication to his family and children, inspiring work ethic, unique and varied talents and skills, and amazing heart and soul who made him the man we know and love.

A celebration of Bobby’s life will be held on Thursday, April 23, from 4:00–8:00 PM at International Beer Garten, 16540 Pointe Village Dr, Lutz, FL 33558. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate the good times in true Bobby fashion.

A private burial service will take place on Saturday, May 9th, at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

John Garrett Lichter
July 5, 1961 - March 31, 2026

John Garrett Lichter, a businessman and craftsman who treasured the people in his life, died of natural causes on March 31. He was 64. He cherished his fellowship with many but lifted up one, the 40-year romance with his wife, Taffey. He was a thinker, a curious reader and a keen observer of the human condition. He completed mechanical repairs in the apartment building he owned with the same kind of care he manifested in all things.

He was born July 5, 1961, in Philadelphia, and moved to North Carolina for college. After graduation he worked in and around real estate, sometimes as a property manager. In the late 1990s he moved to St. Petersburg to be closer to Taffey, who he met through a mutual friend.

They married Oct. 17, 1998, and took care to maintain that bond on a daily basis, following a set of guidelines that included frequent and honest communication. He purchased and managed an apartment building in north St. Petersburg, keeping a downstairs workshop for his extensive work with wood and stones.

An accomplished lapidarist, John turned a two-bedroom unit into a labyrinth of cabinets and tools, which he used to cut and polish thousands of stones.

Hunks of rock, including jade and Chinese turquoise, remain in their cases, surrounded by hundreds of small drawers labeled in red pencil or Sharpie – ebony and other African hardwoods, cedar and petrified wood. The gleaming stones would end up mounted with the wooden symbols he carved — perhaps cross or a heart, or a phoenix symbolizing rebirth and renewal. This is where he worked and thought and read books on Christianity and life’s purpose.

A similar cultivation inhabited the home they shared with a string of dogs they outlived, with the exception of Muffin, who usually wants more attention. A makeshift studio in honor of his work in college as a radio deejay takes up a small room, where some of that equipment remains surrounded by rock ‘n roll albums.

In everyday life, his steadiness balanced her passion, just as the vibrant colors of her personality complemented the micro-fine details of his. He died unexpectedly, in the executive chair in his workshop, surrounded by the stones from which he had extracted so much beauty.

John is survived by his wife, Mary Lynch “Taffey” Lichter; his sister, Laura Austin and her husband, Joe; Taffey’s sons, Franklin Perry Lynch and Thomas Christopher Lynch; his nephew, Scott Austin, and niece, Stephanie Austin.

A celebration of life will be held on April 27, starting at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 701 Beach Drive NE 33701. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Presbyterian Church.
