Have an "it is what it is" mentality.

While this may sound like a negative and feeling-less statement, it is quite a good way to adjust your mindset and accept what is happening around you.

Your outer world will always meet you with situations that cause a multitude of feelings and thoughts; sadness and joy, stress and bliss, anger and happiness, worry and contentment.

It is important to practice holding yourself in a place where, despite your feelings, you accept that whatever is happening around you... it is what it is.

Monday Mindset for your week:

Your Attitude IS Everything.

Practice living in a place where your outer world does not promote a reaction from you, rather let yourself be guided by your inner self.

When you take the time to change your negative reactions to situations into realistic responses, you will find that you are capable of reducing your stress response.

In fact, the majority of your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to outer events can be shifted into positive responses where you are able to move from a place of peace and understanding.

This can lead to:

The first version of our sign is complete.
I decided to go with "Integrative Wellness Center" instead of "Natural Wellness Center" because I don't want to limit the healing process simply to one or the other: modern medicine vs. holistic medicine.

I believe that everything has its place in a person's healing journey and I want to build a bridge between medical practitioners and holistic healers.

The focus is to best meet the needs of those seeking to feel better mentally, physically, and spiritually no matter how that looks for each unique individual.

There's often this deep desire in parents to make everything okay by "fixing" problems.

It's hard to watch our children struggle with things.
It's common to find ourselves trying to sugar-coat these moments in an attempt to make our Littles (of all ages) feel better.

But is this really helping them in the long run?

What if we began to model for our youth how to healthily work through obstacles?

When it comes to mental health, our youth can benefit the most by experiencing real life and learning to cope with their big emotions.

As parents, it is our responsibility not to make their pain go away, but to guide them into utilizing healthy mechanisms that can lead to:

Increased problem solving skills.
Reduced anxiety and depression.
A strong sense of direction.
The foundation for a happy and healthy adulthood.

Burnout is real, y'all!

It is real and it is becoming more and more prevalent in today's society because w so busy, so over worked, and most importantly, we are not making time to fuel our own needs!

Psychology defines burnout as "a state of emotional, mental and physical exhaustion brought on by prolonged or repeated stress."

~ Now let's remember that stress isn't always negative. You can have so much high energy "good" stress that leads to burnout too.

What I wish I knew years ago...
We were not built to run on "go" mode all the time.
We were designed to flow in waves, such as the ocean... low tide & high tide.
Moments of high energy and moments to slow down and be still.

Coming this summer!

It's been a long time coming since I really put my heart into Earthly Essentials and I got an opportunity that I couldn't pass up.

This summer, I'll be opening the first edition of Earthly Essentials Natural Wellness Center here in Pinetop!

It'll begin as a space for free workshop, low cost master classes, and continuous education for adults to focus on improving their mental wellness and reducing symptoms of stress & burnout; my number 1 passion to focus on.

I also plan on staying true to the roots of my education and holding aromatherapy classes for education and DIY projects (NOT MLM AFFILIATED).

Even more exciting...
I am kick starting my Youth Healthy Minds Movement and will be holding classes for kids & Mental health as well as classes supporting parents when it comes to youth mental health!

I hope that you are as excited as I am!

Let's talk about routine a bit.

Are you a person who craves routine?
I know that I am! I cannot function productively without a routine and the minute that routine gets thrown off, it feels like my world is going to end.

Probably somewhat dramatic of me, but it's me.
Am I alone in this?

Let me also ask you this...
Is there a place in that routine where you are putting yourself first?
Even a little something every day just for you.

Some may call it your "guilty pleasure", but I'd rather remind you that it is simply an act of self-care and self-love.

It's the small things such as taking time to apply your favorite oils or sip on your favorite iced drink.
It's the moments where you can detox your mind from the heaviness of life's responsibilities...

Yes, I said it. This week make sure to put yourself first more often!

That is your focus for this week and the Monday Mindset to carry with you.

Too often, we fall into the busy routine of doing all the stuff. The work, the kids, the house, the pets. It is all of the responsibilities and all of the stress that comes with these things that will drain the happiness and the energy out of you if you aren't taking time to pursue the things you love.

It also means taking time each day to just STOP.
Stop and have your coffee in peace for 15 minutes.
Stop and get some fresh air.
Stop and be present in your surroundings.
Stop and take a nap (my personal favorite).
Stop and remember to put yourself first for just a little bit.

Meet yourself where you are is the Monday Mindset for this week.

It's so easy to get caught up in the "I wish I wasn't doing this" or the "I wish I was at this place in my journey".
It is human nature to always be looking forward and always craving different.

But you have to meet yourself where you are in your journey right NOW to get yourself to where you want to be.

It is in this present time that you can understand your imbalances and what needs to change.

Let's face it, getting from a to z takes steps. You don't just jump to the end.
There's a method to reaching that end goal.

The same thing comes with change, healing, and growth.
No one just wakes up one day and is the person they've been dreaming to be; and the same goes with improving your mental self.

So this week focus on acknowledging where you are right now.
How you think, how you feel, what triggers you, and when you are feeling low.

Because mental healing starts with deep acknowledgement of the you now, and a bit of your why sometimes.

This week is all about Meeting Yourself Where You Are in order to begin making the adjustments toward healing and growth.

Youth Health & Happiness is extremely important to my heart and so I've created the Healthy Minds extension to Earthly Essentials.

What's that saying? "Our youth are the future".

Cliched... maybe.
True... Most definitely!

I've found that, as a mom and through my studies in Integrative Health Sciences, our children deserve the same focus and teaching as any adult when it comes to mental wellness.

The difference is, we often overlook our youth's mental wellness and deem them as being "overreactive", "troubled", "disobedient", "out of control", and more.

While yes, disorders like ADHD, Autism, Behavioral, Depression, OCD, etc. are very real and affecting our youth, there's a lot of talk about addressing the basics toward behaviors in all youth that are sometimes very similar.
These things NEED our attention and parents NEED effective support.

The Healthy Minds Youth Movement by Earthly Essentials is focused on just that...
Support Youth and Equipping Parents with Holistic, yet Realistic, Tools to Improve Youth Mental Health & Happiness.

This is not a place to supplement professional help, so let's get that straight.
This is a place to find support, discuss what is and isn't working, and to advocate for ourselves (as parents) and for our kids.

Our youth's mental health and happiness begins in one place... WITH US!
