Self-heal is a very useful perennial herb for the herb garden. It’s edible and has many healing properties. It also grows well and has pretty purple flowers that bees and butterflies love. Learn more about growing these plants with Wendy Moulton as she explains the basics of getting it right.

Presentation on Self Heal and Making Salves

Bring plants or herb related supplies for raffle.
Bring food for pot luck.

We’re studying medicinal herbs, Salves, Ointments, Poultices and more this summer
as we wait out the heat before returning to our gardens. This month we’ll make a
Salve to help soothe dry skin, cracked lips, etc.
Supplies Needed
- Bring your Herb Folder from last month-
- 2 oz Tins (available at Hobby Lobby- about 4 for $4.00) or glass bottle with top
- Favorite essential oils (ie- use one with strong scent-Sandalwood, Lavender,
Rosemary, Patchouli Peppermint, etc.)
- Labels for containers

Next month we’ll be making a poultice
Other items needed-
- Small bottles (all different sizes, also found at Hobby Lobby). Use spray bottles
or one with cork

If you have questions or have problems finding items, send email to
cenlaherbsociety2000@gmail.com There will be time at the meeting
to share or trade supplies as needed.
