Last night members of the Pipestem VFD that are part of the Summers County Special Operations Team responded to assist with a male that was having a medical emergency in a very remote section of the county. Many agencies from both Summers and Monroe Counties assisted and would not have been possible without the volunteers that answered the call.
This call was very complex and had many working parts and obstacles requiring rope rescue, SAR, and medical care but ultimately the patient was rescued and air lifted to higher medical care.
