SafeHaven Celebrates Director’s Twenty Years of Dedicated Service in Mental Health
As of today, May 9, 2025, SafeHaven, Inc is proud to announce the twenty-year anniversary of Douglas Metcalfe as Executive Director. For two decades, Douglas has been a cornerstone of our organization, offering unwavering commitment, compassionate care, and exceptional expertise to those in need of mental health support in Darke, Miami and Shelby counties.
Throughout these 20 years, Douglas has played a vital role in improving the lives of countless individuals, advocating for better mental health awareness, and fostering an environment of care and understanding through the various programs, peer support groups and field trips. His impact extends far beyond the workplace, inspiring colleagues and members alike to engage in a more meaningful and compassionate way…To not only tell but show people they are not alone. For twenty years, Mr. Metcalfe has shown everyone who has come through the doors that they are loved, valued, and part of the SafeHaven family.
As Douglas celebrates this milestone, we are reminded of the positive influence that a single person can have on an entire community. His legacy will continue to inspire and guide our work as we move forward in our mission to provide support, resources, and care for all those affected by mental health and recovery challenges. Doug always shares enthusiastically that “It’s a blessing to have a job with an opportunity to be a little bit of God’s hands and feet each day.”
