We are glad to have finally given our community hall some much needed attention over the past few weeks! Work included significant drywall repair, finishing work, fixture replacement, electrical work and more! We still have a bit of a ways to go with the refinishing of the hardwood floor and receptacle/switch replacements, but are glad to have completed these long awaited repairs and upgrades.

A BIG thank you to our community who has stood by us through thick and thin, we are proud to be able to continue to be here for you in your time of need!

This past Wednesday some of our newest members participated in a documentation training led by EMT Shegoski. This training covered multiple facets of documentation regarding patient care to ensure a better patient outcome. Providing care to our patients doesn’t stop once we get to the hospital, but continues as we participate in multiple Health Information Networks (HINs) that allow data collected to be utilized for continuum of care, public health planning and future responses to repeat patients!

Since this morning our system has handled three ALS calls in three different municipalities received through our community line. With calls ranging from respiratory distress to a complicated domestic situation with a patient in an altered state, we are proud to be relied on to continue to help those in need. Our ability to help patients such as these is additionally made possible through string partnership with our friends at Atlantic Mobile Health, Hackensack Meridian-JFK University Medical Center EMS, RWJBH Mobile Health - EMS and Piscataway Township Police Department.

**Our team and our partners remain available for urgent responses to those in need 24/7/365 via our Community Hotline**

It’s always a pleasure to be of help when others are in need!

Last night we were glad to send a BLS into Essex County to assist as needed. Pictured below is one of our ambulances at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and Children's Hospital of New Jersey alongside an University Hospital unit.

This past Friday our team had our first training with the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Trauma & Injury Prevention Program and Safe Kids Middlesex County. During this course more than 20 of our providers completed the Stop the Bleed course, which paired with their EMT education, allows them to be a Stop the Bleed instructor. At our next class which the rest of our team will be able to attend, along with future additional classes to educate future new providers along with members of the public!

We look forward to continuing to grow our relationship with both Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (which also provides our medical direction) and Safe Kids Middlesex County so that our team of providers can augment their program with more instructors to grow class offerings and ultimately save more lives!

We honestly cannot say enough about the great changes Public Safety Director Stith has brough to Piscataway Township and the Piscataway Township Police Department! We applaud this initiative and welcome the Piscataway Township Police Department to make use of the River Road Rescue Squad's hall to hold a community roll call so that our providers can better get to know the men and women that serve the community that we have called home for more than 60 years!

Public Safety Director
Keith Stith:

Piscataway Community,

I hope this message finds you well. It is both my duty and privilege to ensure that our police department continues building strong relationships with the people we serve. That is why I am proud to introduce a new initiative we are launching: Front Porch Roll Call

Today we were proud to successfully support another Julia Ride organized by the Expendables MC. This year’s ride continued in the tradition of remembering Piscataway Township Police Department officer Julia Caseres who succumbed to cancer while also honoring the life of Spotswood Fire Lt. Robert Oross who passed in a motorcycle accident this past year.

We are thankful to be able to continue the tradition of supporting both this group and this ride year after year as they bring responders and civilians together to assist our brothers and sister’s in their time of need.

*******

During this event, our duty crew responded to a patient in respiratory distress and other members participated in a CEVO (driving) class as they begin their journey learning how to operate an emergency vehicle.

We are proud to be able to continue to serve those in need in so many very different ways and continue to thank all who lend your support to our mission day in and day out.
