A very tiny mashup of my journey to becoming a 200 Hour Yoga Teacher. 🧘🏻‍♀️ I’m so proud of the fact that I chose to pursue this path despite the challenges I faced —

🌀failing out of a very expensive and popular worldwide hybrid online course (that alone could have left me feeling unworthy and incapable)
🌀injuring my shoulder in a car accident, and then attempting a shoulder stand too soon during the healing process in order to “keep up the pace” in the hybrid course with other students because modifications were less than encouraged by the faculty members. 🚩🚩
🌀fighting back against perfectionism and imposter syndrome demons telling me “no one wants a yoga teacher who only feels passionate about Slow Flow and Yin” or “that Downward Dog isn’t Downward Do***ng like a real yoga teacher would!” or “you shouldn’t need flow notes because a REAL yoga teacher memorizes the flows”.

But I did it! 💪🏻 I honored my body, mind and spirit. I climbed the proverbial mountain. I pushed back against the “I can’t” and discovered not only that I can, but also my passion in yoga. 🧘🏻‍♀️

With that said, I am focusing my energy towards teaching students interested in Slow Flow and Yin Yoga. ✨ These styles allow students to deepen into poses, really feeling into the body.

There’s a lot of curiosity around Reiki right now, especially when people ask, “Is there any science behind this?”

The honest answer is that science has not yet identified one clear biological mechanism that explains exactly how Reiki works. That doesn’t mean nothing is happening — it means it’s still being studied.

What researchers have been able to observe are the effects. Reiki and similar hands-on practices are associated with relaxation, shifts into a parasympathetic (resting) state, and reduced perceived stress. Those are real, measurable responses in the body.

Ann Baldwin, PhD, explains one of the leading theories being explored:

“Presently, the biological mechanism by which Reiki mediates its beneficial effects is not known… [Oschman theory] …brainwaves travel through the body… creating changes in the body’s electromagnetic biofield.”

This is a proposed model, not a confirmed explanation. But it reflects something important: the body is responsive, and it shifts in the presence of calm, intentional care.

From a faith perspective, healing through touch is not new. Scripture speaks about the laying on of hands as a way God works through people:

“They will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.” — Mark 16:18

Screamiverse Expo — Day Two 🖤 I didn’t get hardly any photos 😭 This year I was blessed to be busier than even last year on Sunday with readings. 🃏

was so awesome and got me in first thing before the expo officially opened for the day to give me some much needed ink. ✍️ 🫟

Thank you to Dan and all the incredible volunteers with the Screamiverse Team (especially our guy Kelly, who made sure all the vendors were super comfy, caffeinated, and fed!) 👻 thank you to the other vendors who have become friends ☺️ thank you to my husband who has been my “team” since the beginning 🖤 thank you to and for coming with this year as volunteers (and the best friends) to set up and assist me 🫂 and a huge thank you to everyone who shared their energy and lives with me during their tarot readings, especially those new to the experience — it is truly an honor to hold space for you 🧘🏻‍♀️

This is why I do what I do 🌀 When I attend events to read tarot, I never know who God will lead to my booth to sit with me or why they are sitting, but the impact is always immeasurable — for the querent and myself. 🕊️ It’s an experience that I’m consistently humbled and excited by.
