What is Guided Imagery and How Does it Work?!
Guided imagery is a therapeutic approach that has been used for centuries. If you are the least bit curious about guided imagery and how it works … then this is your sign to come see for yourself the many benefits you will discover when you start to implement guided imagery into your life!!
Whole Human practitioners have banded together to provide some introductory sessions on various dates for the community at a low fee. All proceeds will go into our community fund so that we can offer services and future experiences for the curious minds in our local area.
So How Does It Work???
Sessions involve a practitioner guiding a person or group to visualize peaceful scenarios and use their senses (sight, sound, smell, touch) to move attention away from worry, stress, anxiety, pain, and other negative emotions.
● You may choose to bring a yoga mat and pillow or simply relax in one of our chairs.
● Sessions will begin with some relaxing stretches followed by the guided imagery and conclude with optional discussion or journaling of the experience.
● Different practitioners may vary this to some degree.
What Are The Benefits????
Guided imagery sessions offer significant mental and physical health benefits by using focused visualization to promote deep relaxation.
Key Benefits of Guided Imagery:
Reduced Stress and Anxiety: By focusing on calm, mental images, it reduces emotional stress, helps manage anxiety disorders, and may reduce symptoms of depression.
Pain Management: It is effective in reducing physical pain, including chronic pain, arthritis, and discomfort during cancer treatment.
Improved Sleep: Regular sessions can aid in calming the mind and body, leading to better, more restful sleep.
Physiological Benefits: Guided imagery can lower heart rate, reduce blood pressure, and improve overall immune system function.
Enhanced Performance and Recovery: Athletes use it to visualize successful performances. It is also used to improve surgical outcomes and speed up recovery.
Empowerment and Well-being: It provides a sense of control over your own health and well-being which promotes a higher quality of life.
Watch the Whole Human FB page for events as each session will be posted as a separate event to accommodate practitioner’s schedules and provide varying times and dates for your convenience. You can also follow each of the Whole Human Practitioners to stay up to date on the latest events.
