You brightened up the world,
and so very selflessly, gave everything you had and brought so much joy to me.
You guided me so wisely and you're so sorely missed each day and the only comfort is the memories that will never fade away. You were both so very special and although losing you brought pain, you now are both together. And one day we'll meet again.
Mrs. Dorothy Price was reunited with the love of her life, Charles on what would have been their 70th wedding anniversary. We take comfort in knowing that they are together again. Dorothy was a special lady of our Southern Wind family. She brought a smile to everyone that knew her and kept us on our toes. I'll never forget the year she won Valentine's queen and how much her face lit up from ear to ear that she got to share that with her husband. Dorothy loved her family fiercely always talking about how proud she was of them. Her smile lit up the room.
I looked forward to every day, watching her walk by and sharing a quick hello. Rest easy, Ms. Dorothy. Your work here on earth is done. We'll see you soon on the other side.

In Loving Memory of Sammie Jo

Those we love never truly leave us.
They walk beside us every day—
Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed, and forever dear.

Our sweet and spunky Sammie Jo danced her way into heaven on July 22, finally free from all pain. A true firecracker, Sammie had a sharp wit, a well-timed eye roll, and a smile that lit up every room she entered.

She found joy in life’s simple pleasures—especially sitting on the porch with a cup of coffee, a cigarette in hand, and good conversation flowing with friends. That porch was her kingdom, and she was its queen: the feisty lady in the pink bathrobe, holding court from her designated chair, solving the world’s problems one chat at a time.

Sammie was full of life and lived it entirely on her own terms. She adored her daughter, cherished her friends, and loved her family deeply. Pink was her color, cozy pajamas were her favorite attire, and a rainy afternoon was the perfect excuse for a long nap.

She had a soft spot for sweet treats, cold Coca-Cola, shopping trips with friends, and visits with staff and fellow residents. Always ready for a party or a spontaneous adventure, Sammie lived with joy, humor, and heart.

To know her was to love her—and to miss her deeply. Her spirit will forever live on in the memories of those fortunate enough to have shared in her laughter, love, and sass.

Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever Sammie.

Today we turned up the flavor and the fun at Southern Wind Manor with a festive Cinco de Mayo celebration! Residents and staff came together to enjoy a colorful afternoon filled with Mexican music, dancing, games, and delicious food—including tacos and homemade guacamole! 💃🌯🎉

Everyone had a blast posing for photos in our decorated with sombreros. The joy on our residents’ faces reminded us how important these moments of laughter and connection truly are. ❤️

Thank you to our amazing team for making this celebration so memorable—and to our families and friends for always supporting our community spirit! 🎈

¡Feliz Cinco de Mayo from all of us at Southern Wind Manor! 🎊

🐣🌸 Easter Joy at Southern Wind Assisted Living! 🌸🐣

We had an egg-stra special time at our Southern Wind Easter Party today! 🎉

Residents, families, and so many excited children joined us for a heartwarming day full of fun and laughter. The highlight was our Easter Egg Hunt, where kids and residents teamed up to find colorful eggs hidden around the courtyard! 🥚💐

We also enjoyed: ✨ Games and Prizes
🍧 Delicious Snow Cones
📸 Pictures with the Easter Bunny
🎁 Smiles that filled the whole facility!

It was a beautiful reminder of the joy that comes from bringing generations together and celebrating the season with love and community. Thank you to all who came and helped make this such a special event. 💛

Don't weep at my grave, for I am not there, I've a date with a butterfly to dance in the air. I'll be singing in the sunshine, wild, and free playing tag with the wind while I'm waiting for thee.
Stella Williams passed away peacefully January 9th, 2025. Stella aka Stella Bella always had a smart remark or smile for everyone. Small and mighty, full of life and a song in her heart. Always loved hearing Stella sing a gospel hymn. She knew all the words to every song. Stella loved cookies and coffee, which we did every day. She gave us great laughs with her quick wit and smart butt answers over the years. Stella had a heart of gold and gave great hugs. She will be missed by us all, but we rejoice in knowing she is free for her earthy disabilities. Love you our sweet Stella Bella, Until we meet again.
