April is Stress Awareness Month.

Stress shows up in different ways for everyone, but there are small things we can do each day to take care of ourselves.

Practicing mindfulness
Getting regular exercise
Prioritizing sleep
Staying connected to the people around us

These aren’t quick fixes, but they can make a real difference over time.

If stress has been building or starting to feel overwhelming, you don’t have to handle it on your own. We’re here to help.

It may be cloudy outside, but our Girard Challenger group is bringing the sunshine ☀️

This week, the group focused on the skill of giving compliments by creating their own “compliment suns.” Each participant filled their sun with kind words they can share with peers - building confidence, connection, and positive communication along the way.

Small skills like this can make a big difference in how we support and uplift one another.

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month - a time to raise awareness and strengthen our role in protecting children in our community.

Recognizing the signs is one of the first steps in prevention. When we stay aware and speak up, we help create safer environments for children to grow and thrive.

If you have concerns about a child’s safety or well-being, trust your instincts and reach out.

📞 To report suspected abuse or neglect, call the Kansas Protection Report Center (24/7) at 1-800-922-5330

Sometimes “functioning” just means getting by.

If alcohol is how you’re coping, that’s worth paying attention to.

You don’t have to wait for things to fall apart to take a closer look.

We had a great time at Pittsburg High School today connecting with students about careers in mental health and the many ways to get involved while still in college.

From clinical roles to support positions, there are more pathways than people often realize - and it all starts with a conversation.

Is Throwback Thursday still a thing? We’re bringing it back for our 65th year.

This building might look familiar, but has come a long way. What used to be a medical records storage facility is now home to many of our administrative team, supporting the work happening across our agency everyday.

As we celebrate 65 years of services, we’re looking back at where we started and how far we’ve come.

Have old photos or memories of CCMHC? We’d love to see them. Feel free to drop them in the comments or send them our way.
