Everything the Region 8 ESC offers focuses on helping educators be successful and helping schools save money and leverage resources - driving more money to students in the classroom - where it matters most. Region 8 ESC is governed by:
• A seven-member Board of Directors, elected by local school board members; and
• An Executive Director, appointed by the Board of Directors, with the approval of the Commissioner of Education.

ESC8 was proud to welcome campus leaders from across the region for the 2026 Summer Campus Leadership Summit. Eric Sheninger shared an inspiring keynote focused on practical strategies for leading change, strengthening school culture, and creating engaging learning experiences for students and staff.

Congratulations to the Class of 2026 and all graduates celebrating this exciting milestone! Today, ESC8 was especially excited to recognize and celebrate the 2026 graduates from our staff families, including those who were unable to join us in person today.

Graduation is a meaningful milestone that reflects hard work, dedication, and perseverance. We are proud of each graduate and look forward to seeing the incredible things their futures hold.

Through the Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA), our educators are making a massive impact—and the results speak for themselves. In 2026 alone, Region 8 teachers generated $4,191,370 in additional pay!

We are celebrating 306 Designated Teachers, 133 New or Higher Designations, and 23 Participating Districts.

Region 8 ESC is proud to celebrate both Harts Bluff ISD and Cooper ISD for being named Bluebonnet Learning Beacon Districts for the 2026-2027 and 2027-2028 school years.

The Bluebonnet Learning Beacons program recognizes districts across Texas that demonstrate strong implementation of high-quality instructional practices and serve as models for other districts statewide.

Harts Bluff ISD earned Beacon recognition in Math, RLA, HQIM Systems, Vision, and Change Management, while Cooper ISD earned recognition in Math, RLA, and HQIM Systems.

As Beacon districts, both schools will open their doors to educators and leaders from across Texas, providing opportunities to observe high-quality instructional practices and share strategies that will positively impact students far beyond their own campuses.

Congratulations to district leaders, teachers, and staff members whose dedication and commitment to continuous improvement made this recognition possible!

ESC8 is proud to celebrate the graduation of the 2024-2026 Dyslexia Therapist Cohort on May 11, recognizing nine dedicated educators who completed two years of rigorous training to become clinical therapists in dyslexia intervention.

This program meets the strict accreditation standards of the International Multisensory Structured Language Education Council, requiring more than 200 instructional hours, 700 clinical practicum hours, and 10 formal evaluations to ensure graduates are prepared to provide high-quality, evidence-based support for students with dyslexia.

These graduates are now eligible to sit for the competency exam through the Academic Language Therapy Association and pursue certification as Certified Academic Language Therapists.
