Please join us in warmly welcoming our two talented new clinical interns, Allison and Kensey! 🎉
Allison and Kensey are both graduate students in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and are completing their degree requirements with us. At Congruent Relationships, we're deeply committed to offering accessible mental health support, providing low-cost individual and couples therapy to the greater Pittsburgh community. These growing clinicians will be integral in helping us further this mission!
Let's learn a little more about them:
✨ Meet Allison: ✨
Allison brings a wealth of experience from her work as a case manager, supporting marginalized communities and meeting individuals in diverse settings. Holding a BS in Psychology, Allison believes healing flourishes in spaces of authenticity, safety, and connection. Her collaborative and transparent approach draws from Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help clients understand their core behaviors and emotional attachments. Allison is LGBTQIA+ and neurodiversity affirming, dedicated to providing a therapeutic space that acknowledges systemic oppression and trauma while fostering resilience and growth. She's passionate about the power of relationships, self-compassion, and the possibility of change. Welcome, Allison!
✨ Meet Kensey: ✨
Kensey has experience providing individual counseling to emerging adults navigating life transitions and identity development. Before joining us, Kensey worked in a whole-person centered recovery program, supporting individuals with substance use and mental health challenges. Drawing from existential-humanistic, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy frameworks, Kensey's therapeutic perspective is rooted in curiosity and compassion. Kensey aims to understand and honor the complexities of each individual and couple they work with, prioritizing a non-judgmental, person-centered approach. Recognizing the impact of our current times on mental well-being, Kensey seeks to understand unique lived experiences, especially those involving marginalization and oppression, to help clients find paths towards resistance, empowerment, and joy. We're thrilled to have you, Kensey!
