Stepping beyond the classroom and into real-world perspective

Our 1st year DPT students recently participated in a powerful poverty simulation. It is an eye-opening experience designed to deepen empathy, understanding, and patient-centered care. Through this immersive activity, students navigated the challenges many individuals and families face every day, from accessing healthcare to managing basic needs.

It was a reminder that behind every patient is a story shaped by social, economic, and environmental factors. 💙

Experiences like this help shape not only skilled clinicians, but compassionate advocates for the communities we serve.

Giving back, learning, and growing 💙

Our second-year students have the incredible opportunity to participate in a pro bono experiences with the Sisters of Mercy at Carlow Convent. Through meaningful service and connection, they not only support the community but also deepen their understanding of compassion, advocacy, and purpose in their future professions.

Grateful for partnerships that inspire us to lead with empathy and make a difference where it matters most.
