We are very pleased to announce that in Spring 2025, Korion Health closed our pre-seed funding round with a $100,000 investment from the newly-established Alfred A. Kuehn Innovation Institute!! The Kuehn Institute is a Pittsburgh-based 501(c)(4) nonprofit with the vision of extending healthy lifespans using advanced data analytics roots from its founder's company, Management Science Associates, Inc. Our Communications Coordinator Diane Karloff has prepared a post on the Korion Health blog here {https://korionhealth.substack.com/p/dr-alfred-a-kuehn-innovation-institute} to detail the Kuehn Institute's story.

We are so grateful to have been the recipients of the Institute's first-ever investment or donation and will use the funds to expedite the FDA clearance process for our first at-home medical device. We’re thrilled to share that this August, Korion Health was awarded the $25,000 Scalable Grant from Innovation Works! 🎉🎉 This funding will support the manufacturing of our first batch of stethoscopes in collaboration with local Pittsburgh business.

We’re proudly investing in our region by exploring partnerships with:

-Butler (adhesive labels)
-Hellbender Inc. (manufacturing & engineering)

Fun fact: In 1949, the KDKA channel became the first owned-and-operated TV station in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Something BIG happened last week. We can't tell you what it is yet. But basically, our Chief Operating Officer Akshaya Anand worked incredibly hard for months and months and then achieved a major milestone for Korion. Bonus points for doing it in a very financially savvy and resource-efficient way.

We look forward to sharing more when we can. But in the meantime, three cheers for Akshaya!!!!!!!!! 🤗

✨ Communications Coordinator here. I am delighted to share that on April 29, I gave my first talk on behalf of Korion at ’ Spring 2025 Demo Day!!!

✨ This event showcased a semester-long collaboration between KH and nine business-focused undergraduates in the GV student organization. Our interns supplied consulting, creative, and tech contributions that
helped us update our interface dashboard, translate user materials into Spanish to increase accessibility, and more.

✨ It was a blast feeling like a college student again for a hot sec, walking around the beautiful campus and presenting in the imposing School of Business Lohrfink Auditorium.

✨ I’m grateful to for sliding me the opportunity to get involved, develop the pitch, and tell the story of this partnership while she and .n.anna were making major headway on a manufacturing certification audit at the facility of our partners in Pittsburgh. Looking forward to the next chance to brag on the progress of Korion and all our supporting team members!

It’s a huge (and a bit belated!) honor to share that I was recognized in April as one of the 30 Under 30 honorees!!

When I first came to Pittsburgh in 2020 to start my MD-PhD program, I didn’t really know anyone and wasn’t sure what to expect. I was coming in without anything, and immediately felt the warmth of the Pittsburgh community when I posted on a local Facebook group asking for a mattress to borrow. The generosity of my neighbors blew me away when 5 people showed up at my rental place with furniture and a bed, telling me they were mine to keep. From that moment on, I knew the Pittsburgh community was going to be very special.

Since then, I have only continued to fall in love with the city and its people. The authenticity, resilience, and kindness of the Pittsburgh community makes it really feel like home here. To be recognized as one of the people helping move the ball forward through my work for Korion is incredibly meaningful. It really feels like my journey has come full circle.

Thank you Pittsburgh Business Times, and the community that welcomed me with open arms. And don’t forget to keep me around for residency here! 😆
