In Loving Memory of Carrie Burkley (Offman)
July 24, 1960 – October 23, 2024

We take this moment to honor and celebrate the life of Carrie Burkley (née Offman)—a beloved member of the Allegheny Medical family, a devoted wife, compassionate caregiver, and cherished friend. Carrie’s life was one of extraordinary dedication, kindness, and passion—qualities she brought not only to her patients but to everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Carrie devoted 27 years of her life to the healthcare profession, touching countless lives with her expertise, empathy, and unwavering commitment. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing with honors from the University of Pittsburgh, becoming a Nationally Certified Nurse Practitioner. Her career included significant contributions to Premier Medical Associates, Indiana Hospital, and Heritage Valley Sewickley, along with her dedicated work at The Hormone Center. The last eight years of Carrie’s remarkable journey were spent with Allegheny Medical, where she found joy in helping her hormone patients through individualized care, always ensuring they felt heard, understood, and supported.

Carrie had an innate ability to connect with people on a deep level, making every patient feel like they were her priority. Her passion for integrative medicine shone brightly, and she was an inspiration to her colleagues for her hard work, effectiveness, and gentle compassion.

Outside of her career, Carrie’s heart belonged to the simple pleasures of life. She loved spending relaxing afternoons by the pool with her beloved husband Bob Burkley, sharing laughter and joy. She delighted in gardening, where she nurtured life just as she did with those around her. Carrie’s love for animals was another extension of her generous spirit, and her home reflected her joyful personality—especially during the holidays when she meticulously built her enchanting Christmas Village to bring warmth and wonder to all who visited.

Known for her impeccable taste, Carrie had a love for beautiful shoes and handbags, adding a touch of elegance wherever she went.

As a loving wife to Bob and a devoted mother to her children, her family was her most cherished accomplishment. The love she had for them and the pride she felt in their lives was evident to all who knew her.

Carrie’s vibrant legacy lives on not only through her family but through the countless lives she touched in her nearly three decades of healthcare service. Her passion for making a difference extended beyond the exam room, and her impact will continue to ripple through the patients and colleagues she inspired.

In lieu of flowers, we ask those wishing to celebrate Carrie’s life to consider a donation to the American Heart Association and Paws Across Pittsburgh Animal Rescue in her honor—continuing her legacy of care and compassion for others.

Carrie Burkley will be deeply missed, but her spirit will remain with us—guiding us to live with the same generosity, grace, and dedication that she embodied.

Rest in peace, Carrie. Your kindness, warmth, and light will never be forgotten.

Celebration of Life TBD.

Benefits of Magnesium

* Blood sugar control
* Energy production
* Protein synthesis
* Bone density
* DNA repair

“Magnesium is part of a matrix of ‘helper nutrients’ like fiber, potassium and antioxidants, which protect blood vessels and improve insulin resistance,” says Doerfler.
