It's National Farmers Market Week. At Highmark Wholecare, we have supported our communities through free farmers markets with collaboration from the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, Central Pennsylvania Food Bank and Westmoreland Food Bank. So far, our team members have distributed 70,000 pounds of fresh produce in 2025, with a goal of 120,000 pounds by the end of the year. We are proud to help feed our communities and combat food insecurity!

Smiles across the state: Highmark Wholecare and United Concordia Dental were back out on the road in July for the Healthy Smiles for Miles dental tour. With stops in 10 cities across Pennsylvania, hundreds of Highmark CHIP and Wholecare members were provided free dental services like exams, cleanings, X-rays and fluoride treatments. The tour picks up again in August.

We opened a new Pittsburgh-area Connection Center at AHN Suburban today! The Bellevue site is a centralized hub that brings together care services, member support, and organized access to social resources in a 3,000 square foot location. It also houses a large public event space that will host year-round community programming. We're glad to join the Bellevue community and the continued innovation at Suburban!

We were proud to support the reopening of the Housing Authority of the City of Pittsburgh's Cheryl Gainey Wellness Center. The HACP center is a commitment to the health of its residents and our communities. Our team members were thrilled to plant this year's community garden at East End Cooperative Ministry (EECM) recently. While at the nonprofit in East Liberty, they planted all kinds of vegetables from green peppers to cherry tomatoes to zucchini and more. We are happy to support organizations like EECM and help feed our communities!
