Hi friends!
As part of some good business housekeeping, it’s time for a small rate update. This summer marks 10 years since I became a licensed massage therapist—where does the time go?? Clearly I’ve been enjoying myself. 😊

To celebrate, I’m heading to Durham in mid-July for advanced training in clinical neck work with . I’m so excited to keep learning and refining my barefoot massage skills—always growing, always aiming to offer even better care.

Thanks for being part of this journey. Here’s to the next chapter!

Rats.

Funny enough, I have been thinking a lot about what to share on Instagram in terms of vulnerability. I am spectacularly human. I show up in the only way I know how.

I am bummed about losing a bunch of work right at the final moment, but it's very low stakes. I'll move through it. The second time around should be much faster.

It's been too long since I've had photos of my work taken. I haven't been able to share with you all my new studio and new badass techniques. But with a new website dropping (!!) soon, I just *had* to.

So -- Yeah!! This is some 2-footed technique, which not only addresses the extremely tight spinal erectors, but also decompresses the spine and ribcage. Working this deeply on either side of the spine also encourages rotational motion in the spine. We love to see it 💜

Ooohhh boy, I'm about to bring back some unreal, bone-deep barefoot techniques from Jeni . Absolute game changer. I can't wait to see y'alls heads explode 😆

I'm back in the office this Friday, 10/25! I'm looking for 1-2 big bodies to practice on. Send me a text or DM if you're interested.

I present to you: 1428 Hubbard!
And Bug. (How could I pick just one photo of Bug?) He's approximately 5 years old, and my best guess is that he's a black lab-pit mix.

He would love to greet you if you are comfortable meeting him. Let me know if you'd rather not meet him, or if you're not familiar with how to greet a new dog. I will be happy to share some tips that will make the meeting more comfortable for both of you. There may be a couple of barks or other dog noises during the session. He is still getting used to my massage practice, but he is catching on quickly and I expect he'll be very nonchalant about the whole thing in a couple weeks.

Let me know if you have any questions or concerns!

My time on East Carson street has come to a close. That office is an important step in my journey as a solo practitioner. It was the very first blank slate I've ever had - I started from scratch. I made the hard decision to exclusively do barefoot massage. I built that iconic pergola myself from the ground up. I chose every piece in that room. It's very "me" in a way that no other room has ever been before.

In the last two years, my life has changed in ways I could have never predicted. I have changed, grown, and become someone very different than I was in April of 2022. So after some months of searching for an ideal office space, I finally came to the realization that it was much closer than I expected. I have a spare room... why not make that my massage studio?

Initially, I resisted the idea of moving my practice into my Brighton Heights home. Would people be weirded out by the "Me-ness" that my home exudes? Would people be put off by my big black dog? Is my neighborhood too far off the beaten path?

It feels exposed.

But then I remembered how fortunate I am that my practice attracts kind, thoughtful clients.

To be a massage therapist is to be surrounded by vulnerability. The amount of trust that my clients put in me is remarkable. I am honored that people choose to take time out of their busy lives, share their stories, present their pains, part with their hard-earned money, and allow me to touch their body with the intention to help.

I have never been drawn to act "professional" such that my personality is wiped away - I think everyone that's had my massage would agree that my presence is easy and comfortable. All I have ever been is genuine. My work is very much an extension of who I am.

If you're looking for someone in a polyester polo shirt with an embroidered logo, in a room that is painted off-white from top to bottom, in a soulless office building downtown, I'm not your guy.

I do have 10 years of experience and do an impeccable deep tissue massage.

I am so grateful to have shared the East Carson office with my excellent friends, , , and .
