Baptist Senior Family Baptist Senior Family is a non profit organization that has been serving the Pittsburgh community for over 110 years. Lebanon, and the Baptist Homes Foundation.

At the LeadingAge Leadership Summit in Washington, D.C., Dr. Z. Allen Abbott, Vice President of Philanthropy at Baptist Senior Family, participated in a panel discussion on the impact of the new tax law on the aging services industry, with a focus on philanthropy and charitable giving.

Getting to know… Jerry!

Jerry has been part of our maintenance team for over eight years, and if something needs fixed, he’s the one to call.

As an HVAC mechanic, he handles everything from everyday repairs to more complex issues, always taking the time to get it right. He’s known for being reliable, problem-solving on the spot, and helping wherever he’s needed.

What he enjoys most is being able to help others—and it shows in the work he does every day. It’s that mindset that makes a difference for the people around him.

Residents and Foundation staff recently delivered 610 pounds of non-perishable food and personal care items, along with $6,530 in donations, directly to SHIM.

Providence Point is now a Gold Tier partner of the Buck Institute for Research on Aging’s LIVE program — becoming the second community in the nation and the first on the East Coast to join this initiative.

LIVE (Longevity Inspired Vitality Education) brings cutting-edge research on aging into everyday life, helping residents learn practical, evidence-based ways to support healthy, active aging.

We were honored to welcome Brian Van Wheele, Vice President, Chief Philanthropic Officer of the Buck Institute, to our community, where he shared more about the organization and the LIVE program, and how it is helping bring the science of healthy aging into real-life practice.
