When you’re told you’re not good enough, remember it’s just noise. Every ‘no’ you’ve heard (and continue to hear) is fuel for your journey. Your passion shouldn’t be deterred by others’ doubts. Perseverance transforms every setback into a stepping stone. You’ve faced countless rejections, yet you rise stronger each time. Your victories are sweeter because of the struggles. Congratulations to our graduating otolaryngology residency surgeons! You have made us all very proud! Remember these three key pieces of advice as you embark on your surgical careers:

1. **Embrace Lifelong Learning** - You already know medicine is always evolving, stay curious and keep learning. Looking forward to seeing you all grown up on the conference circuit!

2. **Prioritize Patient Care** - Keep the same energy you had in residency in caring for your patients. Continue being their advocates. Remember why you went into the field in the first place and always put the well-being of your patients first.

3. **Cultivate Resilience** - Surgery is demanding; it evolves into different demands as you progress in your career. Always maintain and build a strong support network and take care of your mental health. Do not neglect your loved ones, the pendulum will swing where sometimes you can prioritize loved ones and other times where you cannot. Remember to check in regularly with them and allow them to feel heard and seen. They are on this wild ride with you. Don’t forget that.

Above all, Have fun! I know you’re gonna do big things in the field, each and everyone of you! As always, keep in touch!

Not sure what I did to nail you, but I am so grateful for the life that we’ve curated together. Thank you for making me a better person, thank you for showing me how to love and loving me unconditionally. Thank you for your wisdom and your patience lol dealing with the household of neurodivergent folks, including myself lol
