“My Guide Inside” is a beautiful explanation for young people to recognize their potential to understand themselves and others and navigate ups and downs fearlessly. I have recommended it to many teachers over the years and the most frequent response was that it was even more helpful to them in their lives than it was to their students, who truly enjoyed participating in the learning.

Globally, youth are asking that we imbed/ integrate well-being. “As complexity in the world has evolved, Well-being and Learning represent an integrated concept. You cannot be successful on one, without the other.” M.Fullan.. The 3 Principles as taught in MGI increase well-being: mentally, academically, socially, and behaviorally.

It is heartbreaking to see the dreadful fires in Los Angeles. It looks like hell on earth. Years ago, I did a lot of work in LA and the fires have struck such a beautiful area. Thinking of all my friends and colleagues there and hoping you are safe.

It is the first day of 2025. This morning I remembered myself on the first day of 1985, the year I would turn 42. I thought “More than half of my life is gone. Whatever youth was, it’s over. What do I do now to take responsibility for my purpose?” Now 40 years later, I found myself asking the same question with different urgency, thinking “I never expected to live this long. What do I do now to make the most of every precious day and share my gratitude for life? What have I held back that I could give?” I don’t know the answer right now. But being in the question will reveal it. I do know that. Sending heartfelt wishes for harmony, peace and joy to all. It is a wondrous thing to share this time on earth with you. Let’s all make the most of it.

Wishing everyone good times, good friends, good will, and good common sense in 2025. I watched the New Year arrive on TV as the crystal ball dropped in Times Square. A huge happy crowd from all over the world was celebrating together. Every year I watch this, I wish the warmth and connection, the spirit of every New Year, would remain alive in everyone’s heart all year. We can create peace on earth if we all find peace within ourselves.
