Picking the right IV needle size is like dating… you’ve gotta find the right fit.”

24G – For the delicate souls (think babies and the elderly).
22G – Your go-to for most patients… the “vanilla ice cream” of IVs.
20G – Perfect for fluids and meds… basically the workhorse.
18G – Big, bold, and ready for rapid infusions… but your patient will definitely side-eye you.
16G – For trauma, emergencies, or when you really want your patient to remember you forever.

Don’t worry, you’ll get it down! 💪

🫁 Nasal Cannula: 1–6 L/min (FiO₂ ≈ 24–44%)
Great for your “I just need a little help” kind of patients.

🎭 Venturi Mask: Precise control! FiO₂ ranges 24–50%
Perfect for our COPD legends who want just the right amount of O₂ (not too much, not too little).

😷 Non-Rebreather (NRB): 10–15 L/min (FiO₂ ≈ 60–100%)
When things get real—you grab the NRB. Full power, no nonsense.

💨 CPAP: Delivers continuous pressure (not a flow rate)
It’s not just snore control—it’s life support for those teetering on the edge of respiratory failure.

One makes you sweaty, the other makes you sizzle

When the summer sun starts cooking people like rotisserie chickens, it’s important to know the difference between heat exhaustion and heat stroke — because one needs water and the other needs 911.
