Summer starting up means less homework for kids and screen time dramatically increases. Here's a helpful tip for creating a healthy balance between video games and other summer fun and even have parents join in on the fun.

Kids aren't the only ones in the house that can have fun with video games over the summer.

There are countless family-friendly games out there that parents can enjoy with their kids. Not only will you be able to learn more about video games, but you'll also find that it’s a great way for some quality summer family fun! And make sure to balance the video games out with equal time spent doing another family activity that doesn't involve gaming or screen time.

Great suggestions when it comes to limiting screen time.

How do you balance screen time in your home?

During the winter months, we spend more time at home using our devices. Here are four helpful tips on how to create balanced screen time with your family:

1. Schedule “screen-free times” during the day and fill them with another activity outside of videos/video games. Whether it be playing outside, coloring, or playing board games, try to find an equally enjoyable activity that doesn’t require a screen.

2. Get your kids involved with setting healthy boundaries with screen time. Make sure that setting boundaries is done through conversation with your child and allowing them to provide their own input.

3. Try your best to avoid using screen time as a reward. Using screen time as a reward may have an opposite effect and encourage your child to want more.

4. Try to keep screens out of the bedroom. Watching videos or playing video games right before bed can have negative effects on an individual’s sleep.

The holiday season is full of magic, giggles, and picture perfect memories…but, how do we get there?
A lot of the preparations and ex*****on of holiday delight falls on us Moms.
This year choose to focus on what is most important.
❤️ Ask yourself, what do you want the Christmas season to feel like for your family?
đź’š Make a list of what that feeling and vision requires. Prioritize those things.
This may be family traditions, people you visit, or charitable donations.
❤️ Keep your expectations realistic to avoid disappointment.
💚 Set deadlines to avoid last minute rushing around. “I will have gifts purchased & wrapped by Dec 15th”

Please focus on what is most important to you this month and do not put unnecessary pressure on yourself.
You can enjoy the Holiday Season without exhaustion, give yourself a break…go ahead and watch that sappy Christmas movie 🎄
