Meet Graham! ⚾ At just 3 years old, he’s already a huge baseball fan. Born with a genetic condition that causes developmental delays, Graham’s been tackling some tough curveballs.

With Early Intervention and Speech Therapy, he’s gone from learning to walk to riding a bike—and best of all, finding his voice. His biggest cheerleaders? His two older brothers.

This summer, Graham celebrated his birthday at PNC Park alongside his family, care team, the Pittsburgh Pirates, and Pirates Charities—meeting players like Dennis Santana and David Bednar for a grand slam moment.

Every child’s journey is its own ballgame. Some innings are tough, but with the right support, kids like Graham round the bases toward brighter futures.

📸Check out this special moment as Eric Patterson, Clinical Director of Behavioral Health, accepts a recent donation from John and Julie Pistella at ELHP Helps!

We’re so grateful for this gift that includes toys and equipment that will help support therapy sessions as our clients work to heal, grow, and be healthy. 💚

A huge thank you to ELHP Helps Foundation for making a difference in the lives of the kids we serve!

This summer, teens in the Design to Make a Difference program used their creativity and compassion to design with purpose. As part of this Maker-Ed initiative, students learned how to use 3D printing to create tools that improve accessibility for kids with limited abilities.

They visited The Children’s Institute to meet with physical, occupational, and speech language therapists, kids, and families—learning firsthand about the power of adaptive design. One standout project? A student crafted a custom device that helped a young girl grip and swing a tennis racquet, allowing her to play with her siblings for the first time.

We’re inspired by these young makers and excited to support more events that spark inclusive thinking and build a more accessible world—one idea at a time.
