An Incredible Lineup of Jazz Talent
As we all know by now, the legendary Preservation Hall Jazz Band will headline this year’s Silver Spring Jazz Festival, bringing the sounds of New Orleans to Veterans Plaza. They’ll be joined by an exciting mix of national and local talent — from high-energy big bands to soulful soloists — showcasing the diversity and vibrancy of jazz. With music flowing all day long, the festival offers something for everyone and plenty of chances to discover new favorites.

A More Open Festival Experience
This year’s festival feels different in the best way possible. For 2025, the full offerings of the festival footprint expands across the entire Veterans Plaza, creating a more open, connected, and welcoming experience. Instead of food and drinks being confined to a single area, guests can now move freely throughout the plaza — mingling with friends, bringing along food and drink offerings, and enjoying music from every angle.

It’s all about making the Jazz Festival more comfortable, more festive, and more accessible than ever before.

My Question to you today is:
What about your life would make someone else WANT to know/serve ?

I often say that if I didn't have JESUS or know Him for myself, some Christians would not make it appealing. We all go through tests and trials. I am not the Christian, Pastor, Minister, Elder ... SISTER that is going to continue to sit with you if you CHOOSE to wallow. SAINTS are sometimes the ones who seem to be going through the most.
We must rid ourselves of mindsets that are not Christ. We must program ourselves to understand that God wants us to have an abundant life, a fruitful life, and that brings glory to Him. LIFE WILL NEVER BE PERFECT. However, I don't believe suffering all the time as a Christian should be your badge of honor and only testimony.

I was told three or more times this week that I am glowing. Thankfully, this time it's not the prego glow, nor is it my favorite filter on snap.
But I prayed a very specific prayer. I want God's LIGHT to shine through me.
Yes, I go through things, but I am choosing to not sit and be overtaken but to affirm and declare the LIFE I IMAGINE to live.
Guess what... YOU CAN LIVE THE LIFE YOU'VE IMAGINED!

Congratulations are in order!

Allegheny County Jail (ACJ) proudly celebrates the latest class of graduates from the Foundation of HOPE Pre-Release Program. Maria Quinones, a previous graduate of the program, offered encouraging words to those participating in the HOPE pod about staying focused and being the best version of themselves.

The HOPE Pre-Release program is a vital part of the ACJ’s goal to give incarcerated individuals the tools they need to improve their lives in positive ways when they are released.
