It is with deep sadness that we mourn the passing of Linda Brown, a beloved retired Chief Flight Nurse of AHN LifeFlight.
Linda passed away on June 23rd after a short illness. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Lee Brown, and numerous loving family members.
A graduate of Pittsburgh Hospital School of Nursing, Linda dedicated her life to caring for others. She rose to the top of her profession, first as the Manager of the East Suburban Hospital (later Forbes Regional Hospital) Emergency Department, and then as the Chief Flight Nurse for Allegheny General Hospital’s LifeFlight, where she served until her retirement.
But her life was not only defined by her work, she was an animal lover with a house full of them - even a horse looking in the window from time to time! Linda had a love of flowers and all things growing that always kept her busy.
Linda was more than just an excellent clinician; she was a respected friend, known for her ethics, wisdom, and wonderful sense of humor.
Pete Hough, Assistant Chief Flight Nurse, shared a memory of Linda: "Linda was not only a remarkable boss but also a cherished partner. We shared demanding experiences, including one memorable landing at the old Children’s Hospital helipad. As Chief Flight Nurse, Linda fostered camaraderie amongst her team, even tolerating the occasional prank with good humor. I fondly remember visiting her farm and the amusement of seeing her pet pig. Rest in peace, Linda. Your contributions and spirit will not be forgotten. You have taught me so much!"
Linda's contributions to LifeFlight and the countless lives she touched will never be forgotten. She left a lasting impression on all who had the honor to call her a friend and colleague.
A memorial service will be held on July 7, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Trenz Funeral Home.
Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Lee and Linda’s entire family during this difficult time. Rest in peace, Linda.
