Doctors' Day notes are arriving! One week from today, March 30, is National Doctors' Day. Did a special doctor change your life? There are just a few days left to donate and thank a special doctor with a handwritten note, like the ones pictured here.

National Doctors’ Day is an annual day dedicated to thanking our doctors and letting them know how much you value the care they give you and others. You're invited to thank your doctor through a donation in their honor.

Make sure to select the "Dedicate my donation in honor or in memory of someone" option and enter your doctor's name. If you would like us to send them a card with a personal note, just type that message in the "message for the honoree" box

Did you know that March 19 is Certified Nurses Day? The UPMC St. Margaret Professional Practice Council is celebrating with a spring-themed bulletin board to honor our certified nurses' dedication and expertise, created by Alex Pantoja.

This is one of the projects that is made possible by donations to the Nursing Recognition Fund at St. Margaret Foundation! This fund is used to recognize our certified nurses and provide all certified nurses a gift!

Happy Certified Nurses Day to our St. Margaret Family!

In February, UPMC recognized Lillian Palumbo with a Regional Good Catch Award for her exceptional commitment to patient safety and advocacy, and we wanted to share this inspiring story with you!

When a patient was ordered a high‑risk medication, Lilli quickly recognized that the existing vascular access was not appropriate. She took immediate action to ensure the patient had the correct access, preventing potential harm and promoting safe medication administration.

Lilli is also a donor to St. Margaret Foundation, and we couldn't be prouder to have her on our team! Congratulations, Lillian!

Today is a very special day. On March 3, 1986, St. Margaret Foundation was established as a 501(c)3 public charity. Today marks forty years since the official start of St. Margaret Foundation's mission to be a valued source of support for St. Margaret Hospital and the health and wellness of the communities it serves.

1986 might have been the official beginning of St. Margaret Foundation but it is far from the beginning of philanthropy at St. Margaret Hospital. That story began more than 130 years ago. Read a brief history of St. Margaret Hospital here: https://www.stmargaretfoundation.org/articles

We are celebrating today's momentous occasion with reverence for the many donors, physicians, nurses, volunteers, employees, and community members who came before us to shape St. Margaret into what it is today. Here's to many more years to come!

For more detail on the history of St. Margaret, keep an eye out for the upcoming 40th anniversary edition of the Spring Impact Report!

Get active your way and get together to honor Brian and support patients in crisis at UPMC St. Margaret.

We ❤️ St. Margaret! Today, we are handing out Sarris chocolate bars for every employee at St. Margaret - managers, please stop by the HR office to collect them for you and your staff! We will be here until noon.

This morning, the Employee Experience Council welcomed employees to work with donuts, coffee, and treats.

Volunteers Tom and Marylin spent this morning handing out sweet Valentine’s Day bears to every patient, as a gift directly from donors. Thank you to those of you who donated, making this possible. Tom said these gifts were extremely well received and appreciated. Small acts of kindness go a very long way!

Will you send a patient a Valentine?

We expect about 150 patients to be at St. Margaret Hospital on Valentine's Day. These are patients who are hoping to celebrate with their loved ones and are instead facing an illness in the hospital, which can feel overwhelming and scary.

Our goal is to make their Valentine's Day a bit brighter with a token of love and support from donors. With your help, volunteers like Tom and Marylin can deliver a Valentine’s Day bear to each patient in the hospital on February 14.
