📣 Speech Pathology researchers at VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System just published a paper detailing treatment procedures and demonstrating that the treatments delivered during the trial reliably matched the protocols. This important analysis will lend confidence to the clinical trial results and provide a roadmap for other researchers or clinicians who want to replicate the treatment or the study’s results.

The Program for Intensive Residential Aphasia Treatment & Education(PIRATE) provides treatment to Veterans and active duty service members 🇺🇸 with aphasia.

Since its inception in 2009, PIRATE has provided treatment to hundreds of Veterans from across the United States while working to better understand aphasia recovery and improve outcomes for all individuals living with aphasia.

Women Veterans Recognition Day celebrates the June 12 signing of the Women's Armed Services Integration Act on June 12, 1948, by President Harry S. Truman. This act granted women permanent status to serve in the regular armed forces. Prior to that, women could only serve as nurses in the regular and reserve forces during peacetime. 🕊️

Happy Women Veteran Recognition Day! Thank you to all the women who have served and continue to serve our country. We are grateful for your service and your sacrifice.

Eighty-one years ago today marked D-Day, the Allied Invasion of Normandy, and the beginning of the end of WWII in Europe. Operation Overlord was the greatest amphibious landing in history, employing over 150,000 troops which led to the liberation of France and eventually to the defeat of N**i Germany.

On the anniversary of D-Day, we remember the Greatest Generation whose bravery and sacrifices in WWII will not be forgotten. Thank you.
