REFLECTION OF OVER 75 YEARS AS A HYPNOTHERAPIST.
Advice to the newly qualified hypnotherapists.
The purpose of this post is to pass onto you a few points. That would enhance your chance in becoming a qualified hypnotherapist. People are announcing themselves as hypnotists when in some cases they’ve only completed a course of a few hours or days. Advice number 1, learn from a good and well recognized school. Advice number 2, once trained, you can develop your database to increase the number of your kind by requesting that they, if satisfied with you, tell their friends. If unsatisfied, tell you and correct their points of displeasure. Advice number 3, study your advertising budget. I questioned and recorded the source of each clients information. The amount you spend varies with the area and financial situation. At one time my budget for advertising was 19,000. When friends questioned me on this, my reply was that I would invest that amount anytime to bring in 100,000. Advice number 4, stay away from controversial subjects. For example religion, cultural and political. The minute you start voicing your opinion on these subjects you will lose a good percentage of your possible clients. They wont want to come to you raving about their religion or culture. Put yourself above petty politics. When you voice your opinion in politics you are eliminating approximately 50 percent of your potential clients. Do not push your ideas onto the client. Your job is to help them with their problems. Develop the persona of a successful hypnotherapist with the attempt to be known in the field of hypnosis rather than as a musical player, comedian, etc. Keep success with a client a step higher than a financial reimbursement and we can make the practice of hypnosis great again. May God bless your efforts and your success. Norb
