REFLECTIONS OF OVER 75 YEARS AS A HYPNOTHERAPIST— POST #5 9/30/2018

My fellow hypnotists, this post is not about hypnosis but the post last week generated a lot of interest. I am adding this one to illustrate that there are many phenomenon or true facts of life that make some of the paranormal phenomenon in hypnosis more acceptable to many hypnotists that refuse to accept it.

Please watch this video: https://www.facebook.com/Gaia/videos/2091299777567369/

Can you imagine living in a world without light, smell, or sound?
You don’t need your imagination as we do live in one. Look in a book of basic physics and read about the scales of wave frequencies. Light rays have frequencies that causes visibility to the eye- but only after the brain processes the image reflected onto the retina. X-rays are invisible to the light spectrum but if X-rays are directed toward the eye a person can read lead numbers-directly on the retina- but upside down. Every thing we see is projected by our eye lens onto the retina upside down. Our brain turns things right side up. Light-being only a wave length frequency does not exist where there is
No eye.. The universe is in total darkness.
Where there in no ear- there is no sound. If a tree falls in the forest-only silent sound waves are produced- these turn into sound after being picked up by the ear and converted into sound by the brain. Surrounding us, 24 hours a day are thousands of wave frequencies such as TV, radio, microwave etc that to our ear is silent but to a properly tuned receiver turns into a TV picture or a cell phone message.
Yes my friends we are alive in a total silent world. Let there be enlightenment.
Blessings and enlightenment, Norb.

REFLECTION OF OVER 75 YEARS AS A HYPNOTHERAPIST. POST # 14

Pain does not exist.

The reason that pain responds to hypnotic treatment so well is that pain is purely a result of imagination and believing. Imagine if you will:
You are speaking on the phone to a friend, and a little bumble bee flies along, lands and plants a big kiss on your tender buns. You scream, “ouch!,” the person you were talking to heard your scream but did not feel your discomfort. This is exactly the way the human body works, interpreting this message. Your body is wired for this system of nerves which carry the action of the bee biting you to your brain where it is interpreted. The pain therefore originates in your brain from a wired message. You are therefore reacting to this interpretation, but not to the trauma of the bee sting. That same imagined pain can be reduced or eliminated in proper hypnosis technique. However, pain is a signal of a physical problem that should be addressed. This is God’s method of warning us that something is in disorder. In working with a person who is under a doctor’s care, always get the doctors’ permission before hypnosis treatment . I have never had a doctor refuse my offer of assistance.

Advice to the newly qualified hypnotherapists.

The purpose of this post is to pass onto you a few points. That would enhance your chance in becoming a qualified hypnotherapist. People are announcing themselves as hypnotists when in some cases they’ve only completed a course of a few hours or days. Advice number 1, learn from a good and well recognized school. Advice number 2, once trained, you can develop your database to increase the number of your kind by requesting that they, if satisfied with you, tell their friends. If unsatisfied, tell you and correct their points of displeasure. Advice number 3, study your advertising budget. I questioned and recorded the source of each clients information. The amount you spend varies with the area and financial situation. At one time my budget for advertising was 19,000. When friends questioned me on this, my reply was that I would invest that amount anytime to bring in 100,000. Advice number 4, stay away from controversial subjects. For example religion, cultural and political. The minute you start voicing your opinion on these subjects you will lose a good percentage of your possible clients. They wont want to come to you raving about their religion or culture. Put yourself above petty politics. When you voice your opinion in politics you are eliminating approximately 50 percent of your potential clients. Do not push your ideas onto the client. Your job is to help them with their problems. Develop the persona of a successful hypnotherapist with the attempt to be known in the field of hypnosis rather than as a musical player, comedian, etc. Keep success with a client a step higher than a financial reimbursement and we can make the practice of hypnosis great again. May God bless your efforts and your success. Norb

Confessions of a Con Artist

As one grows older he has less desire passing on misinformation attached to a name. For most of my years as a hypnotist I was regarded by many as a hypnotic healer. I was credited with many unearned successes. Mortals do not have the power to heal others. Doctors do not have the power to heal others. Healing power is only in the hands of God. As a hypnotist, one can assist by striving to get the client as deeply into the trance as possible. The deepest trance state is the somnambulistic state. In this state once the subject commits himself, the subconscious mind can take over 100%. In my experience, the people that I have achieved this state with have been miraculous in recovery. As they say, I am only a starving con artist helping the individual achieve this state of trance that will permit the healing to happen. I firmly believe there are no limits as to what the human mind can do or accomplish. I just want to clear the records, I have never cured anybody with hypnosis and I don’t believe any other hypnotist has either.

My favorite and deepest hypnotic trance

Light hypnosis or faking hypnosis without reaching a good trance may be advantageous if your goal is to bring in quick money. Albeit, the best trance to achieve success in hypnosis healing is the somnambulist trance. I dare say that more than ¾ of the hundreds of thousands of hypnotists have never experienced this phenomenon thousands of hypnotists that do not believe in the paranormal will never achieve the satisfaction of placing a person in the somnambulist trance.
To understand this trance we must go back in history to its roots. Several hundred years before Franz Mesmer, a group of healers in northern India called ja do walla practiced trances or what they called jar-phoonk Jaroo which was (to stroke) , phoonk (to breathe). This stroking and breathing was very successful in producing a very deep and intense trance that would enable major surgery be performed on the client. Later on, Esdaile, a Scottish Doctor, in India performed over 1900 major operations used this state or which was similar to what Elliotson wrote about in early publications on hypnosis. Sometimes his assisting ja doo wallas would spend a day to a week to hypnotize a subject for major surgery.
Today, the hypnotist wants to spend all of a half an hour to an hour and expect miracles.
The early French writers thought that these early methods reminded them of a sleep walker, a somnambule. And named this trance The Somnambulist Trance. Blessings and Namaste. Norb

The value of hypnosis scripts

Over the years there have been many disputes whether a hypnotist should use a prepare script. My personal experience is that I would not use a script prepared by someone else. However in my library I had and consulted over 30 books of scripts. These I used to get ideas. Planting an idea in a persons mind seems to have far more success when it is repeated three times using different words. The success that I have attained in working with medical problems was by preparing a cassette. This cassette was given to the client to take home and reinforce our previous session. I confess that many clients had medical problems that I didn’t have the slightest idea on how to approach. However in talking to the client I would determine just how their problem affected them. Many times I knew this problem by a different name. I firmly believe that the subconscious mind has the ability to cure or assist in the healing of the problem. Strive for a sonombolism trance, speak from your heart and I’m sure that success will be yours. Please give me your comments. Blessings and namaste, Norb.

REFLECTION OF OVER 75 YEARS AS A HYPNOTHERAPIST. POST # 9

Old hypnotists never die, they just trance-spire.

Reaching the point in my life where I recognize that my earthly existence may terminate at any moment. Bad heart, bad eyes, respiratory failure, useless legs, bed restriction and full time oxygen puts me on a very critical curve. I know and I recognize that any moment could be my last. This is why I have been publishing my posts (you can find all of these posts on my self-hypnosis page). Many of the things that I have said in these posts may have been stepping on some of your toes. I don’t apologize. In my posts I’m giving you a true rendition of what I have come to believe by extensive studying, researching, and experimental hypnosis over the past 75+ years. My book, Hypnotisms Strangest Phenomenon, is a compilation made of experiments, research and study. I do not profess to be an expert in anything. I just portray what I have experienced it without embellishment. I respect the knowledge that many of the hypnotists have portrayed since Mesmers time. 1500 years ago in northern India the hypnotists were called Ja-doo-walla. I would like to be remembered as Norbert Bakas Ja-doo-walla. May you all be blessed and Namaste, Norb.

REFLECTION OF OVER 75 YEARS AS A HYPNOTHERAPIST. POST # 8

The future of hypnotism

A short while ago, several of my old hypnotist groups were discussing the trend of hypnosis and what we think of its future. One of our concerns was that we are probably the only organization that does not have a unified name. There are probably over 50 different names that hypnotists go by and we still don’t have a name for the subject being hypnotized. Some examples are hypno coach, hypno counselor, hypnotherapist, etc. At one time about a hundred years ago they were using the names ‘hypnotizer’ and the subject was the ‘hypnotizee’. We discussed that one title should apply to all such as a dentist, pharmacist, physician, etc. We ought to all be marching to the same drum beat. We are never going to become a unified group unless we band together onto one common ground and not having 50 individual groups out there having their own conventions and combating each other. A national union would help eliminate the problem, but to do this we would have to be licensed. A barber needs a license to cut your hair but a hypnotist can cut into your mind without any qualifying training. We agreed that hypnotism requires trance. Without trance there is no hypnosis. United, we will succeed. The riot and each group interested primarily in money and personal gain will remain a bunch of scavengers running around searching for scraps. We would like to walk around being respected as hypnotists and not part of an adult group that are interested in p***o stage performances. Po*******hy does not belong in a respectful profession. To paraphrase our president, let’s make hypnosis great again. What are your comments???

Namaste, Norb.

REFLECTION OF OVER 75 YEARS AS A HYPNOTHERAPIST. POST # 7

Hypnotist are you really hypnotizing your client?

Could it possible that perhaps over 50 % of persons hypnotized were not hypnotized at all? Old men have the privilege of criticizing the errors of youth. Where is hypnosis heading when courses are being taught stating that achieving a trance is not necessary. Ye gats man, without the trance, there is no hypnosis. Hypnosis and trance have been synchronic for over 260 years and cannot be replaced by such methods as tap tap tapping the little toe. Another area of concern is testing the subject to insure that trance state. I don’t believe that a hypnotist exists that can look at a subject who has their eyes closed and appears relaxed and then make a statement that the subject is hypnotized. Achievement of a trance can only be verified by testing. Years ago we used to test by telling the subject they were smelling the most beautiful aroma, roses. And while they were inhaling deep breathes, shove a bottle of smelling salts or ammonia under their nose. Those hypnotized smelled roses. Those faking it went up in the air a foot. Today, newly trained hypnotists are being taught by many that testing should not be conducted because if the person were not hypnotized it would plant doubt in their mind. If you are a hypnotist and sincere in what you are doing, I would advise testing. Sincerely, Norb.
