I wish more people understood that grief isn’t just being sad and crying.
Grief is being angry, being numb, being broken, and being everything in-between
Grief is so different for everyone and you just have to go thru the motions and roll with the punches.
When you’re grieving the loss of someone you grieve for what was and what will never be, grief also takes a big toll on your mental and physical health.
Grief is LOVE with nowhere to go.
Grief is trying to remind yourself that “this too shall pass”
Grief is forcing yourself out of bed to shower and eat.
Greif is isolating yourself
Grief is surrounding yourself with people and things to distract your brain from reality
Grief is ugly and rough, so if you cannot understand why people grieve so hard for so long and so deep consider yourself lucky to not understand.

Grief is like glitter.

The moment your world shatters, it’s as if someone threw it into the air — and it rained down over everything. It settles into your skin, your hair, the deepest cracks of your life.

Located in Upper St. Clair, we are a small private practice offering confidential, professional psychotherapy, consultations, and evaluations for individuals, couples, families, children, and adolescents. With over 35 years of combined clinical and educational psychology experience, we support each other in a shared private-practice space while operating independently to offer your family the most comprehensive, professional psychotherapy and client- tailored counseling services.

Mrs. Renee’ Kinavey and Mrs. Melissa Michel attended different graduate schools for counseling in Pittsburgh, PA. They met at their internships and remained in contact for years after working together. Even when they went different directions in their counseling careers, they stayed in contact and when they finally decided to support each other in working independently, it was meant to be. Melissa and Renee compliment each other with therapy, consultation, and professional support different than larger, clinical practices that can often leave patients feeling disconnected. We strive to offer a supportive, professional environment unique for every client who walks through our doors.
