Holiday Remembrance Show + Tales will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024. Personal invitations were mailed out and this event is also open to the community. Feel free to share with anyone who may find comfort in joining us.

This storytelling event is a little bit different from a traditional holiday memorial service. You are invited to bring one item or photo that helps to keep the memory of your loved one alive. Share a specific memory of your relationship, or how you found a way to honor them. Laughter and lighthearted stories are welcome. Everyone is invited to share with a 3-5 minute time limit. No judges, no prizes, no competition--and no need to practice! Just show your object and share its tale. Or you may come to sit back, look, and listen. Telling a story is not required.

Please let us know by Fri. Nov. 29 if you would like to join us. We look forward to connecting and sharing our stories together!

Would you like to help transform our mulched beds into a natural oasis of native plants and wildlife? We could use help from an experienced gardener (or someone willing to learn) about 5-10 hours per week in gardening season for planting and weeding.

"...it seems that he lived many lifetimes of love, friendships, support of others, and so many jubilee moments with his band ... music ... family. In his 41 years, lived a life bigger than many who live 70, 80, or 90 years, and one that many could only wish for. My thoughts are with his family and friends, even those who didn't know him all that well. Seems that you didn't have to know him well to know through these comments that he was one very special person in the world around him."

Thank you so much for your service and honoring our veterans as longtime commander of the American Legion Honor Guard! Congratulation on your retirement, Joe Paradise.

Joseph Paradise has given military funeral honors to more than 3,000 veterans in Western Pennsylvania and beyond, no matter the weather. At 93, the Penn Hills resident is finally ready to retire, save for his work as a school crossing guard at Long Road and Datura Drive. He’s stepping away

Jim Getsy’s ties to Penn Hills ran deep. That’ll happen when a person described by friends and family as a dedicated community servant and believer in bureaucracy lives in one community for 57 years. Getsy, 85, a former Penn Hills councilman and fixture of civic life, died March 15. He

Happy Saint Patrick's day from your friends at Wolfe!

A fun fact about St. Patrick's association with green comes from Time.com, "It wasn’t until 1798, the year of the Irish Rebellion, that the color green became officially associated with the day, Casey says. Up until the rebellion, the color associated with St. Patrick was blue, as it was featured both in the royal court and on ancient Irish flags. But as the British wore red, the Irish chose to wear green, and they sang the song “The Wearing of the Green” during the rebellion, cementing the color’s relevance in Irish history."
