create healthy change through body, mind and spirit with our heated power vinyasa classes. At Pure Power Yoga we keep it simple. All you need to do is show up.

We believe that everyone is a yogi, and that means YOU. You don't need to be flexible or thin or have the "right" clothes. You don't need to know ancient Sanskrit or burn incense in your home. At our studio we want you to leave behind expectations and come as you are. We have created a space for everyone to lay down their mats and find the practice that resonates within. It does not matter if you are a beginner or an advanced student- there is a class for everyone. This practice is for people who are ready to tap into their inner power. If you are open and ready to receive, the practice will transform you physically, spiritually, and mentally. You will walk away not only with a toned body but more confidence and a more peaceful spirit. See you in class soon!

Welcome to the PPY Teaching Team, Amina!

Amina has been practicing yoga for about 10 years now. Amina’s journey began when she started her Undergraduate degree at Florida State, where she took a few yoga classes to seek out new ways to exercise. While she originally was interested in yoga for the physical aspects, she ended up becoming much more into yoga for the mental benefits.

She started practicing more regularly when she was introduced to Ashtanga yoga, and eventually took a 200hr Yoga Teacher Training with an Ashtanga-Vinyasa focus to deepen her practice and Understand. It didn’t take long until she realized she really enjoyed leading people through mindful movement.

In her classes, Amina encourages modifications, organic movement, independence, and svadhyaya (self study) in classes, while simultaneously challenging students to trust in their strengths and let go of self doubt.

Amina recently moved to Pittsburgh from New Orleans to start her MPH in Behavioral and Community Health Sciences at Pitt. Off the mat, Amina enjoys painting, kayaking, and hiking with her dog.

This year's Thanksgiving Day, Donation-Based Class is very near and dear to our hearts.

Our owner, Annie, lost her son, Maverick, this December to a congenital heart defect. All proceeds from this class will be donated to the Children's Heart Foundation to help fund vital research & care for children with CHDs.

We really hope that you can join us on Thanksgiving morning at 8AM to start your day with movement, gratitude, and support for an amazing cause.

Our Candlelight Yin & Restore is BACK !

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 2nd @ 6:30 PM

Our special event class is a fall favorite that will reset and reboot your body, mind and spirit. During the first half of class, Yin Yoga will gently stretch and strengthen your connective tissue.

In the second half of class, Restorative Yoga will help you unwind and build the skill of conscious relaxation. Props will be used (blocks, bolsters) to support long held poses on your mat. This class is a wonderful balance to your vinyasa practice!

We just got back from our weekend retreat at Stonewall Resort.

It was a beautiful weekend filled with yoga, hiking, paddle boarding, pool time, lots of laughter & great connection! We already can’t wait for next time! ☀️ 🧘🏼‍♀️
