Special reminder to those visiting this weekend: our 13th Annual Car Show is tomorrow - Sunday, August 10th - there may be extra traffic in and around the cemetery office and mall area but the cemetery is open for visitation.

Event Details:
-Entry and parking are free to all
-$15 registration fee to enter your car for judging
-Registration 11-1 PM
-Event concludes at 3 PM

Arrival Instructions:
-The West Gate and main Cemetery entrance gate are temporarily closed due to lane shifts on Curry Hollow Road. Please enter the cemetery via our East cemetery entrance and follow the event parking signs.

Our Story

Harry C. Neel, founder of Jefferson Memorial Park, envisioned and designed Jefferson with memorials flush with the ground to mark the beauty of the sweeping lawns and towering trees. Incorporated in 1929, the cemetery was constructed on a parcel of land that had been the Snee Family Farm. Mr. Neel named his new cemetery, Jefferson Memorial Park after Thomas Jefferson whom he greatly admired. It has always been the vision of our chairman, John D. Neel, to build a funeral home on the grounds of Jefferson Memorial Cemetery. That desire was fulfilled on September 1, 1993 when Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home opened it's doors.
