Our Adult Day Services clients have been busy! Recently, they've been volunteering at Animal Protectors and the Salvation Army as part of our Community Participation program. They also met with animals from the Pittsburgh Zoo including a bearded dragon named Stewart and a chinchilla.

ESWCPA joins the UN in observing the International Day of Disabled Persons. "The observance of the Day aims to promote an understanding of disability issues and mobilize support for the dignity, rights and well-being of persons with disabilities. It also seeks to increase awareness of gains to be derived from the integration of persons with disabilities in every aspect of political, social, economic and cultural life."

dedicated to filling you in on our Photo Center Program. This program provides part-time employment for individuals with disabilities as Photo License Technicians. We are proud to operate at 8 sites, located in Pittsburgh, Bedford, Johnstown, and Erie and employ 50 Photo License Technicians.

Meet Haley! Haley has been a Photo License Tech in our program for 5 years. She is an invaluable, conscientious employee; works well with her coworkers; and provides excellent customer service. On 7/1/23, Haley was promoted to Photo Center Administrative Assistant! She brings excellent computer skills, motivation and initiative to the position, and her knowledge of the Photo License Tech job provides an added bonus. We welcome Haley to her new position and look forward to the positive impact she will no doubt have on the program.

Recently, our Johnstown office celebrated SILLY SPEECH WEEK! Children practiced saying / r, l, s, th, f / sounds while creating silly faces. Then, they hung the faces for staff and families to see and pick out the funniest. Each week our speech and language therapist helps the children to say their speech sounds correctly and to make good sentences, and families attend each session, so they can help the children with activities at home.
