STAT-MD in the news!

Passengers may wish to reconsider those super hot beverages on the plane. A coke spilled in your lap is annoying. Hot tea spilled in your lap might be a medical event.

A reminder for passengers that aircraft cabins are not pressurized to sea level but instead to between 6 and 8 thousand feet of altitude. This means if you have an oxygen requirement on the ground you will need to bring supplemental oxygen inflight. Also if you have certain lung conditions you might not tolerate the cabin altitude and would need to bring supplemental oxygen. You should consult with your doctor.

Also please note you CANNOT bring your own oxygen tank on the aircraft! It is against federal regulations. You can bring a portable oxygen concentrator as long as it is approved for use on board commercial aircraft.
