Did you know the Social Security Administration just added 13 new conditions to its Compassionate Allowances (CAL) list? 💙

This means faster access to disability benefits for those living with serious medical conditions — no long waits, just timely support. ⏱️

✅ CAL helps people with severe health issues get the help they need faster.
🆕 New additions include: Harlequin Ichthyosis (Child), Pulmonary Amyloidosis, LMNA-related Muscular Dystrophy & more.

🌟Success Story Spotlight | enTRUST Benefits Counseling 🌟

What started as a routine transition from volunteer work to competitive employment turned into a powerful example of advocacy in action.

During the benefits verification process, our Benefits Counseling team discovered that someone was receiving far less than they were entitled to. After careful review, we identified that they should have been receiving a Child with Disabilities benefit based on their deceased father’s Social Security record.

With a year of dedicated support from enTRUST — including completing paperwork and visiting the Social Security Office — they were successfully approved for 75% of their parent’s Social Security benefit, and a substantial back payment.

This is an example of the impact of the enTRUST Services team. Our informed guidance and persistent advocacy helps people to succeed.

🎉 Fun Fact Friday! 🎉

Did you know that starting on September 30, 2024, the Social Security Administration decided to no longer count free food as income when calculating SSI benefits?

That means if you get meals from a friend, family member, food pantry, or any other source, it won’t reduce your SSI payment or lead to surprise overpayments.

This big change helps simplify the rules and makes sure people aren't penalized for getting the food support they need. 💙

We were proud to represent enTRUST at The Provider Alliance’s 2025 Member Conference on Friday, 7/25!

Our team hosted a table at this impactful event, connecting with leaders, providers, and advocates from across the state — all working to improve the lives of people with intellectual disabilities and autism.

It was an incredible opportunity to share our mission, highlight our services, and engage in conversations that are shaping the future of support in Pennsylvania.

We're pleased to share this announcement for a Technology Town Hall on Thursday, July 24, 2025. If you know others who would be interested, please share the invite with them as well.

SCOs, Support Coordinators, County and Administrative Entities, peer agencies, families, and other interested parties are invited to attend to find out more about a new service model that is helping people to gain independence and live their best lives. The day also includes a tech fair and demonstrations.
