đŸ€©EXCITING NEWSđŸ€©
Please help us welcome our newest veterinarian, Dr. Wong! He will be joining us in August!

Born and raised in Malaysia, Dr. Wong attended Oberlin College in Ohio before completing his veterinary medicine degree at Colorado State University. Following that, Dr. Wong completed a small animal rotating internship in San Francisco. He has since practiced General Practice and Emergency Medicine with a particular interest in soft tissue surgery, translational research between humans and animals, and chronic medical illnesses.

Dr. Wong and his family (wife, new baby infant, old baby toddler and "old" baby dog) moved here from Baltimore 2 years ago. He’s been practicing at a general veterinary practice locally before deciding to take a job at Greenfield Veterinary Hospital which is about 5 minutes from his home.

As a Malaysian Chinese, Dr. Wong is fluent in English and Chinese (slightly rusty), as well as Malay (quite a bit rusty), and can also speak a touch of Spanish when needed. Dr. Wong also loves soccer (go Manchester United) and has previously lived in India for two years! He is unfortunately a fan of the “Black Birds” as he only really started following American Football in B’more.

‌Why We Strongly Recommend the Leptospirosis Vaccine‌

Leptospirosis is a serious and potentially life-threatening disease that affects both animals and humans—making it what’s known as a zoonotic disease. It’s caused by bacteria found in the urine of infected animals and can be spread through contaminated water, soil, or direct contact with infected pets. Even dogs that live primarily indoors are at risk, especially after heavy rain or flooding.

Vaccination is one of the most effective ways to protect your dog—and your entire household—from this dangerous illness.

Recently, this hit close to home. Our own veterinarian, Dr. Jason Kennell, likely contracted leptospirosis from a contagious patient. He was hospitalized for five days, after battling symptoms for nearly a week. This has been a sobering reminder of just how real and serious this disease can be—not only for your pets but for the people who care for them.

We can’t stress enough how important it is to vaccinate. It’s a simple step that can prevent significant suffering for both pets and people.

Finally, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to all of our wonderful clients who have been so patient and understanding while we adjusted schedules. Being down Dr. Jason and allowing his wife, Dr. Kaci, time to be by his side meant some changes in our daily operations—and your support has meant the world to our team.

Thank you for trusting us with your pets—and for being part of our extended clinic family. 💙💙🐈🐕

Our team is dedicated to providing the highest quality care to your pets and supporting the families who love them. We understand that veterinary visits can be emotional, especially during times of illness or emergency, and we always strive to approach every situation with compassion and professionalism.

However, we must be clear: verbal abuse, aggressive behavior, and accusations against our integrity are not acceptable. Our team deserves to work in a safe and respectful environment, free from hostility and mistreatment.

If you arrive more than 15 minutes late to a 20-minute appointment, you will be asked to reschedule. This policy ensures fairness to clients who arrive on time, and it allows our doctors to give each patient the attention they deserve. Yelling at our front desk staff because of a missed appointment time is not acceptable and will not be tolerated.

We also want to address a misconception: claiming that we are “just in it for the money” is both hurtful and untrue. Running a full-service veterinary hospital involves significant costs — from advanced medical equipment and facility upkeep to staffing, training, and emergency care readiness. We are here because we love animals and are committed to their well-being.

Every recommendation we make is based on what we believe is best for your pet. While we are a business, we are first and foremost a team of caregivers.

Thank you to the many clients who treat our staff with kindness and respect. Your understanding and cooperation help make our hospital a better place for everyone — people and pets alike.

You may have seen just recently in the news about a local pet cremation service being investigated by the Attorney General for disposing of pets bodies in a landfill. We want to assure you that we DO NOT use this cremation/burial service; we never have in the past and we never will in the future.

The aftercare that we provide to your pets is just as important as the care they receive when they’re still with us.

Our office will be closed on Tuesday, April 29th for staff training!
