The Dramatist Guild Pittsburgh Region will present AT RISE, a night of first scenes by Pittsburgh playwrights, read by Pittsburgh playwrights, on July 25th at Bricolage Theatre at 7pm. The event will feature playwrights based in the greater Pittsburgh area reading excerpts of their and their colleague’s work out loud. This will be a little different from what we’ve done in the past with In Their Own Voices because we will have readers for each role, your fellow participating playwrights! The playwright will read stage directions and introduce their work.

The evening will be curated by Pittsburgh Regional Representatives T.J. Parker-Young and Mora V. Harris. At this time we are requesting submissions from playwrights interested in participating. To be considered, please send a first scene from an unpublished original play, and a bio that is under 100 words to Pittsburgh@dramatistguild.com

Submissions are due June 23rd, 2019 and participating artists will be announced during the second week of July.

You must be available to read your work on July 25th and be available for a brief rehearsal beforehand.

This call is open to writers from Pittsburgh, Western PA, West Virginia, and Eastern Ohio. Dramatist Guild Members will be given preference. Questions and submissions can be sent to Mora and TJ at Pittsburgh@dramatistguild.com
