Let’s be honest: the tissue-based model of manual therapy is not just inaccurate. It’s boring. It’s a dry story. A story about tight muscles, stuck fascia, knots, and misalignments. A story where the practitioner “fixes” the passive client, and where therapeutic success is measured in inch...

The cuboid bone of the foot is notorious for creating a loss of hip support when not moving properly. It tends to shut down the TFL muscle, resulting in a collapsing in at the knee and hip as well as a dropping of the arch.

Sharing this from another MFR therapist 🦋🦋🦋As a retired MFR therapist for the past 10 years, I want newbies to know that everything you learn about MFR never goes away and will be your best tool as you age.

Last week I had my 4-month check-up with my surgeon who performed my partial knee replacement. As he looked at my incision scar, he said it looked nice. Then he poked at the outside of my knee and said it would be numb because he had to cut a couple of nerves here (pointing medial of center). I responded that I had no numbness. You should have seen the look on his face!

My friend with two total knee replacements keeps saying she has never seen anyone heal the way I have. Needless to say, my hands were on my knee/leg many, many hours a day, especially those first few weeks.

So I thank you, John, and all of your incredible teacher-therapists. I checked in a few times with my favorite therapist, Chino, before and after surgery who helped me immensely along this healing journey.

Ten days after surgery and today:

🚀 Promising Breakthrough in Fascia Research! 🧬✨

A research team in Virginia, USA has developed a revolutionary microscopic imaging technique that unveils the stunning architecture of the extracellular matrix of fascia like never before! 🔬👀

I can’t help but think that legendary matrix pioneers Alfred Pischinger and Hartmut Heine would have been just as thrilled as I am! 🤩 Can’t wait to see what groundbreaking insights this cutting-edge tool will reveal in the coming years—how the ECM adapts to mechanical forces, biochemical shifts, and other biological influences.

Stay tuned! 🔍🔗 More here: Nature Article

Dr Carol Davis explains how fascia continues to regenerate

Just like our skin and our hair and our bones and the cells of all of our body, fascia is continually replacing itself with new cells. We take up the whole space from skin to the innermost marrow bones with fascia that we were born with, and as we grow fascia grows with us.
The only cells that we die with that we were born with are the cells in the lens of the eye. Thus we develop cataracts as these cells oxidize over time and with sun exposure.

Most all of our other cells are constantly being replaced so that we grow a new person on the inside continually. Fascia never stops self-arranging, self-organizing, self-determining.
We are dynamic, always changing, always adapting.
