“Flutter Tail” Chatarunga is a THING. 🐋It takes some getting used to… but once you get the hang of it… ohhhh baby!

From Low Lunge:
☀️SWEEP your front foot up as you simultaneously hop/ kick up on your back foot

☀️Scissor your legs in the air as you throw the weight of your chest forward

☀️Bend your elbows 90 degrees (Chatarunga) and use your arm strength and core to help you land LIGHTLY on your initial front foot (toes)

The key 🔑 to this really is to throw /shift your body weight forward as you are landing… while BENDING the elbows. This all happens very quickly/simultaneously!

You can practice by taking each piece in little steps…

For example: just work on the low lunge kick up piece over and over…then maybe start working on scissor kicks in 3 leg dog taking one foot up and landing the other back and forth… then begin to put the pieces together!

When you feel comfortable, anytime you are on your mat in low lunge ready to step back to high to low push up, instead - PRACTICE FLUTTER TAIL CHATARUNGA! And make your practice your own 👍🏼😉

Your mission: Take 15 Sculpt classes in January and join the Sculpt Challenge!

How to Join:
Grab a Punch Card at the front desk at either studio at your next Sculpt class (the sooner the better 😉)

What to Do:
Take Yoga Sculpt at either of our locations, bring your punch card and fill in the date every time you take class.

How to Win:
The first person to get to 15 gets a FREE pass for one event or workshop of their choice in 2025.

And…. EVERYONE who takes 15 yoga sculpt classes between 1/3-2/3 will receive a FREE electrolyte drink (flavor of their choice) for each week in February for a total of 4! Do sculpt and hydrate!
