Saturday mornings are made for sticky fingers, extra sprinkles of flour, and a little extra patience.

✨ “If you include your kids, they might slow you down. But maybe that’s the point.”

Sometimes the best memories are found in the mess, not the perfection. 💛

🌟 Client Spotlight 🌟
We’re so grateful when clients share their experiences - it’s a reminder of why we do what we do. Julie B. has been on her acupuncture journey with Michelle for over a year, and her words truly capture the care, compassion, and impact Michelle brings to each session.

Here’s what Julie had to say:
"I've been seeing Michelle for over a year now, and I can honestly say she is one of the most empathetic, thorough, and professional practitioners I've ever worked with. From the very first session, she took the time to truly listen—not just to my symptoms, but to my goals and what I was hoping to achieve through acupuncture.

She brings such a thoughtful, kind energy into each appointment, and her approach is always personalized and holistic. Whether I was dealing with stress or more persistent health concerns, she helped guide me through each with a steady hand and compassionate heart. I’ve seen significant improvements in both my physical and emotional well-being under her care.

What sets her apart is her commitment to partnership—she doesn’t just treat you; she works _with_ you. Every step of the way feels collaborative, and her genuine investment in helping you reach your wellness goals is clear.

I can’t recommend her highly enough—if you’re looking for someone who combines deep knowledge with heartfelt care, you’ve found her."

Some children’s books are so profound….one I think of often is We’re Going On a Bear Hunt by Micheal Wayne Rosen.

In this little book there is a line that’s repeated and it says, “We can’t go over it, we can’t go under it. We’ve got to go through it.”

I often refer my patients to this simple, yet profound statement. Possibly, no truer words have been spoken. There are ups and downs in everyone’s life. But we cannot circumvent the difficulties. The only way to the other side is to go through it. And often, waiting for you is wisdom that you could never gain without experience, and peace and understanding that’s meant to be shared with others. For soon, someday you’ll meet someone that needs your wisdom to help them through. It’s a beautiful thing, so don’t be afraid. You can go through it, you’re stronger than you think. 🥰

Feeling stressed? Try this Traditional Chinese Medicine tip!

One simple way to ease stress at home (or on the go) is to use acupressure on the Yintang point (often called the "third eye").

How to do it:
* Place your index finger gently between your eyebrows.
* Apply light pressure in small circles for 1–2 minutes while taking slow, deep breaths.

This simple technique can help calm the mind, reduce tension, and promote relaxation – no special tools required.

Have you tried acupressure for stress before?

Overheating this summer? Cool down with a TCM-inspired tea!
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, chrysanthemum tea is often used to clear heat and support the body’s cooling systems.

How to make it:
* Steep dried chrysanthemum flowers in hot water for 3–5 minutes.
* Optionally add a touch of honey for sweetness.
* Enjoy warm or chilled for a refreshing, cooling effect.

This simple tea is caffeine-free and a great way to beat the heat naturally.

This is why we do what we do🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Every day, we see how acupuncture changes lives—physically, mentally, and emotionally. Hear from one of our amazing clients, Alicia, and her testimonial!

" I came to wind in the willows about 2 years ago initially because I was suffering from an ankle Injury that seemed to not want to heal. I am a very active person and so it was just a nagging injury that I had tried a lot of different ways to fix (physical therapy, chiropractic, massage, even a boot to stabilize the injury, etc.).

After my first appointment I was addicted! I couldn't believe I had not tried acupuncture sooner. The inflammation in my ankle had gone down which was great but what I did not anticipate were the mental benefits. I felt lighter and calmer, like my general anxiety had eased. I felt less stressed and couldn't wait to come back to my next appointment. I told everyone I could about my experience because it was such a positive one.

Flash forward 2 years later and I I go to acupuncture regularly and look forward to it every single time. Not only has it helped my ankle and mental health but Michelle has even helped me with health problems that have arisen in the past year. I recently had my thyroid checked after having some significant symptoms (mainly debilitating fatigue) and my TSH level was elevated. My P*P told me I was fine (even though I wasn't) and Michelle was able to help me dive into my health and really get to the root cause of what was going on. I feel like I have my life back. My experience at Wind in the Willows has been life changing in such a positive way. Michelle's knowledge, kindness, and patience are what make this place so special and help change lives for the better.

Thank you for everything you have done for me."

Staying Hydrated

I use several products to help my husband, myself, and my kids stay hydrated. Hydration is about more than just water 💦…you need to balance electrolytes to feel your best. With all the sweating and running around, I’ve felt a little dizzy on a few occasions. In those instances I’ll place a pinch of either Celtic or Colima sea salt on my tongue and take a sip of water and slowly let it dissolve. Sometimes I’ll do that again and then I’ll drink some electrolytes mixed into a glass of water. I always love LMNT watermelon 🍉, but have also recently discovered Jigsaw Health Potassium Cocktail Blue Raspberry 🤤.

Of course eating a few slices of watermelon is great too….In Traditional Chinese Medicine, it clears summer heat from the body, helping you to cool down and hydrate properly.

It’s amazing how much you lose through all the sweating and summer fun so replenishing nutrients is essential😎. What are some of your favorite ways to stay hydrated in these summer months!?

Bee stings 🐝

This summer I’ve stepped on several bees and the stings can be super painful. I’ve discovered THE EXTRACTOR and it’s been an essential summer tool. You place it over the sting after taking out the stinger and it helps to pull out the venom. It can be used on mosquito and snake bites as well. It actually helps eliminate the pain almost instantly and really helps reduce the swelling and painful reaction. Because our lawn has tons of clovers….this comes in handy at least a few times a week around here!

When I talk with my clients about wellness, diet is always part of the conversation. Food is foundational - it fuels our energy, supports our immune system, and impacts how we heal.

That's why I choose to support local farms like HEAL Farms who prioritize quality, care, and sustainability. I personally purchase my meat, eggs, and honey from a farm committed to:
✅ Pasture-Raised, Organic-Fed Chicken, Turkey, Pork, and Eggs
✅ Pasture-Raised Beef
✅ Raw, Unfiltered Honey

These choices aren’t just about what's on your plate - they’re about how we care for our bodies, our land, and our communities.
