The OCD Treatment & Training Institute

The OCD Treatment & Training Institute OTTI offers comprehensive treatment, training, and consultation for OCD and Anxiety Spectrum Disorders. Located in Pittsburgh, PA. Hi! I am Erin Harding-McNany.

Together, we can uncover and expose the “root” of OCD symptoms. Owner, Trainer, and Therapist. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in the treatment of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and anxiety spectrum disorders for a combined 10 years. OCD often takes around 7 years to be accurately diagnosed, if it's diagnosed at all. Many clients lack insight into their suffering, enduring

years of debilitating OCD symptoms that they attribute to being 'crazy' or 'monstrous’, which can lead to isolation, shame, and depression. Many mental health professionals still struggle to effectively assess, diagnose, and treat OCD, leaving many clients with inadequate care or even harmful treatments that worsen their condition. My goal with The OCD Treatment and Training Institute is to help close this gap, fostering connections and providing professional training, one step at a time. I firmly believe that by establishing a practice dedicated to offering competent, comprehensive, and compassionate education (with a healthy dose of professional candidness and humor) to professionals across the US and to clients/families in the community, I can continue to make a meaningful difference. Visit my website to learn even more about my professional background and the services OTTI offers.

Join OTTI in celebrating those who are battling OCD, or who love someone on their own OCD journey, while raising awareness for a disorder that often takes about 7 years to receive an accurate diagnosis. Because OCD symptoms frequently mirror those of other disorders—and due to a lack of awareness and competency in assessment and intervention—many individuals struggle in silence, feeling ashamed and voiceless.

OCD Awareness Week aims to clarify what OCD truly is and foster empathy for those facing daily challenges.

OCD doesn’t give you a day off, and with support from OTTI, I aim to help you adopt a proactive approach in reclaiming your life. Let’s learn to be just as intrusive as OCD, but in a positive way.

While OCD may never fully disappear, OTTI advocates for ethical, comprehensive, and integrative treatment strategies that empower clients of all ages to take back control. With increased awareness and education, OTTI is dedicated to supporting everyone who bravely seeks help.

Although you are not defined by your diagnosis, leaning into the discomfort that comes with challenging your OCD can foster both control and confidence.

Remember, the only way out is through, and sometimes we have to blow it apart in order to learn how to effectively put things back together.

You are seen, and you’ve got this.

With care, empowerment, and encouragement to embrace the discomfort…let’s ride.

There are limited resources for appropriate PANS/PANDAS treatment in Pittsburgh. While these conditions are still considered controversial by some, OTTI firmly believes in and supports the validity of PANS/PANDAS diagnoses. The hope is that by raising awareness, more practitioners will become committed to understanding and competently treating these conditions, both medically and behaviorally.

Calling all mental/behavioral health professionals! 📣 Join me on December 6th from 9-11 AM EST for a thorough dive into understanding and treating Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs) like hair pulling and skin picking.

Whether you’re new to this field or a seasoned clinician seeking fresh insights and understandings, this session is designed for you.

I prefer to keep groups small (about 10-15) to foster connection and meaningful discussion, including dedicated case consultation time/Q&A. We’ll initially focus on BFRB cases and questions, but feel free to bring any questions about anxiety, OCD, or OC spectrum cases. Time permitting, I’d be happy to provide you with feedback.

Looking forward to connecting with you!

Hello! I'm Erin Harding-McNany, and I want to welcome you to The OCD Treatment and Training Institute (OTTI).

The vision for this institute has been a cherished dream of mine for quite some time. Faced with life's twists and turns, I realized I had two choices: remain stagnant in positions that hindered me from reaching my full potential or build an institute where I could continue following and honing my passions while giving back.
While it's tempting to claim this institute as uniquely mine, it's not solely mine at all. It's crafted for all of you. Inspired by the hundreds of clients and families I've had the privilege of working with, as well as the countless mental health professionals and agencies I've collaborated with, this space is a culmination of shared experiences, OCD knowledge, lessons, insights, and care. It's a space for you, and I am committed to nurturing and expanding The OCD Institute as far as I can cast the line.
