Today marks 1 year of sobriety from Caffiene, Ni****ne, Alcohol, & Recreational Drugs! Yesterday I celebrated with my girlfriend by floating at Victory and then got refeshments at Pittsburgh Juice Company.
A year ago I used a cannabis product that scared me: forcefully and uncontrollably vomited, lost control of my body, and stopped breathing; this whole event lasted 6 hours+ and I didn't feel "normal" again until 4 days later.
I always used substances to abuse them, socially it was to have a "good time" whether that was high school parties, clubbing, or blowing off steam but I also used when I was alone to deal with past and at that time present traumas and pains.
I would not be where I am today if I hadn't hit rock bottom (a few times), I work on my mental health, and have a great support team of professionals and loved ones. I go to yoga at least once a week, get massaged at least twice a month, talk to my mental health professionals at least twice a month, have medications that help regulate my ADHD & PTSD, I've recently started taking Creatine along with vitamins D & K, and honestly take it day by day just like anyone else.
Again, I do not judge others for the use of any of these products but will continue to educate on healthier alternatives.
Know that you are not alone and that I, along with my business will always be an open and safe space.
