We’re thrilled to officially announce that Honey Bee Haven Early Learning is **under construction** and BUZZING toward a late Fall opening in Bridgeville, PA — located behind the beautifully renovated Eat’n Park!

As two Mt. Lebanon families who have felt the struggle of finding childcare that works with our needs, we decided to stop searching and start building. Our goal? To fill a much-needed gap in our community with a childcare center that offers so much more than just daycare.

Meet our newest Team Member! Hi, I’m Destinè! I’m a dedicated doula and mom. My journey into birth work began from a deeply personal place. After experiencing the heartbreaking loss of my son in 2015, I felt a strong calling to better understand birth, the body, and how we’re supported through it all.

That experience led me to explore birth work in a meaningful way, and in 2017, I welcomed my rainbow baby, Chloe. That healing and empowering birth solidified my passion for helping others have informed, supported, and positive experiences—no matter the kind of birth they choose.

More About Me: I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from California University of Pennsylvania (CalU), but my heart and purpose have led me to walk alongside birthing people with care, knowledge, and love. I enjoy doing anything that involves being outdoors especially on summer days. I have developed a green thumb over the years so plant shopping is at the top of my list followed by any home decor store.

When I’m not doing doula stuff or reading or thinking about doula stuff, I’m either tending my herb garden, doing the NYT crossword, writing blogs, rescuing dogs, or antiquing. I’m a voracious reader and always striving to learn new things.

My Why: After experiencing a loss of a child and not having my voice be heard in a room of people I strive to always be the ears and voice for birthing people and make their experience the best of my ability.

Counter Pressure👐✨

When those surges hit hard, counter pressure can be your go to relief too—but did you know there’s more than one kind?

💪 Sacral Pressure – A firm push on the lower back (right over the tailbone) preferably during higher stations to not compress the tailbone if baby is low.

🎯 Hip Squeeze – Almost everyone loves this! Hands on both hips, pressing inward and upward to create space in the bottom of the pelvis. Instant relief + opens things up for baby!

🌀 Double Hip + Sacrum Combo – A power move for intense surges. One person squeezing hips, another adding sacral pressure = dream team support.

🤲 Sits Bones pressure – steady pressure mid bottom upwards and outwards to open the pelvis, or gentle rocking- rhythmic relief!

Whether it’s your partner or doula applying it—counter pressure is more than just a back rub. It’s pain relief, support, and love in motion. 💥
