Healthy Cooking Class!! We spent the morning learning about the healthy food pyramid and preparing food for our walking tacos and fruit kabobs with yogurt dip!! Yummy and Delicious!!

The guided hike at North Park led us to a vernal pond where we saw a wood frog, hundreds of tadpoles, and salamander egg masses. Along the way, we did “scratch and sniff” of a black birch tree which smelled like root beer and a sassafras. We also visited a rock with CCC carvings. The Civil Conservation Corps was a group of young healthy men who contributed to improving the park… built the boathouse, bridges, etc. They were fed well and stayed at camps on the property. They often sent $ back to their families. And finally, we learned what a group of several birds and animals are called…a group of porcupines is a prickle, bunnies are a fluffle, and owls are a parliament. It’s good to learn something new every day!
