Disability Pride month is celebrated in the month of July to commemorate the passing of the American Disabilities Act (ADA) in July 1990. The ADA is a civil rights law that prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities in all areas of public life including jobs, schools, transportation and all private in public places that are open to the general public. The law makes sure that individuals with disabilities have the same rights as others.
