Please consider showcasing your research and achievements at the Student, Resident & Fellow Research Symposium at the 2026 NMA Region II on Saturday, April 18, 2026 from 1PM-2PM. Region II of the National Medical Association is pleased to announce the Dr. Edith P. Mitchell Student, Resident & Fellow Research Symposium at the 2026 NMA Region II Conference. The full conference will occur April 16-18, 2026 at the Pittsburgh Marriott City Center, Pittsburgh, PA.
All medical students, residents, and fellows are invited to submit a research abstract for poster presentation at the symposium. Grand prize $1000.00.

The Symposium Research Committee will review abstracts and selected submissions will be invited for presentation. Abstracts due March 27, 2026

History has been made, and the "silence" is finally being broken. 🏆

I am incredibly proud to share that THE EBONY CANAL has won the 57th Annual NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Short Form Documentary. This is a milestone for our community: it is the first film focused on Maternal and Infant Health to win this honor since 1967.

This is about visibility: for the 84% of maternal deaths that are preventable. It’s about moving from "awareness" to "accountability" for every mother and baby.

To the brave families who shared their stories: This win belongs to you. We are finally being seen. Now, let’s keep doing the work to ensure every mother makes it home.
