๐ŸŽ‰ ๐‚๐จ๐ง๐ ๐ซ๐š๐ญ๐ฎ๐ฅ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌ ๐ŸŽ‰ to two Pitt PT alumni who have recently matched into highly competitive sports physical therapy residency programs!

๐‘ณ๐’–๐’Œ๐’† ๐‘ฉ๐’Š๐’„๐’‚๐’๐’Š๐’„ (DPT Class of 2025) has been accepted into the Sports PT Residency Program at the University of Miami, where he will begin training later this summer.

๐‘ฌ๐’“๐’Š๐’„ ๐‘บ๐’‚๐’๐’๐’Ž๐’๐’๐’” (DPT Class of 2023) has matched as the Washington, DC Sports Resident with MedStar Health. In this role, he will work as a physical therapist in the clinic and support athletes at Georgetown University and Marymount University.

We are proud to see our graduates continuing to advance their clinical expertise and represent Pitt PT in top sports residency programs.

Dr. Susan Whitney recently represented physiotherapy at the Bรกrรกny Society ICVD meeting in Berlin. The International Classification of Vestibular Disorders (ICVD) group has spent the past 20 years developing consensus-based diagnostic criteria for vestibular disorders, bringing together global experts across disciplines.

Dr. Whitney is leading, with support from Dr. Regan Harrell, a multidisciplinary working group of physiotherapists, neurologists, vestibular basic scientists, otolaryngologists, and a psychiatrist to develop a Bรกrรกny Society consensus document on the use of physiotherapy for individuals with acute unilateral vestibulopathy. The draft will soon be circulated to Bรกrรกny Society members and is expected to be published as a free-access article in the Journal of Vestibular Research.
